Work environment

E services venues support is a department within Financial Markets (FM) Business Services (part of ING Wholesale Banking). The department consists of a Centre of Excellence (COE) in Amsterdam and two execution locations in Bratislava and Manila that provide services to 30 countries worldwide. The aim of these services is to ensure control throughout the client and counterparty life cycle (from on-boarding to exit and all processes in between) for FM and Group Treasury (GT). FMCC works using ING’s One Agile Way of Working principles.

Job Description

The Local Process Expert holds end-to-end responsibility for the process vision and strategy, as well as for creating, harmonizing, operationalizing, managing, and improving multiple processes. As a Local Process Expert:

  • You have in-depth knowledge of the processes in your scope, and you are the person to go to when decisions are required on exceptional cases
  • You are able to implement change and will steer further development of the processes by providing your input in Change/BaU Epics
  • You are responsible for 1st line quality assurance,
  • You are responsible for compliancy to internal and external regulation or policies while also focusing on handling time
  • You are responsible for the development of craftsmanship – how the processes should be executed, in line with ING’s Orange Code

The Local Process Expert plays a vital role when new or changing requirements or improvements affect processes under your responsibility.

Main roles and responsibilities:

As Local Process Expert:

  • You sustain relevant knowledge level for stream members in the execution locations (e.g. new regulations) and  proactively keep knowledge up to date on regulations related to processes
  • You are the SPOC for business & other streams (e.g. escalations, status updates)
  • You are responsible for Quality Assurance (e.g. Work Place Instructions approval) and sign-off / accept process changes
  • You review the performance statistics (E.G. or other tools) and advice management on capacity requirements
  • You manage stakeholders and collect & address stakeholder feedback periodically (continuous service improvement)
  • You take on the role of Process Specialist (process execution) when needed
  • You are sicking for improving the way of working, optimizing processes and automation,

When accepting changes or new processes

  • You are setting clear priorities together with the team’s manager
  • You estimate BAU impact in terms of capacity and knowledge and share this with the epic owner who is guiding the change
  • You review and sign off on relevant documentation like Epic Description Documents (EDD’s), Workplace Instructions (WPI’s), technical requirements etc.

Focus areas

As Local Process Expert, you are the gatekeeper for FM and GT related deal capture systems such as Murex, Bloomberg, Summit, Sophis etc. that are used by ING FM and GT locations around the globe (28 locations).

Product Onboarding is the 1st line of defence in ensuring all (regulatory) requirements are met before a deal code is setup in the aforementioned systems. Examples are regulations like CDD, FATCA/ CRS, MiFID, EMIR, Dodd Frank but also internal policies like Environmental and Social Risk (ESR) and CPAC (Client Product Approval). As Local Process Expert, you:

  • Are the first point of contact for the Front office (Sales, Trading, and GT), Static Data management and other stakeholders/ departments on PO related matters;
  • Challenge the status quo, what has been agreed in the past may not always be the answer in today’s challenges;
  • Always ask yourself the questions, What is it that we do, Why are we doing it, and How are we doing it?
  • Are continuously looking to improve our way of working;

  • The ability to display flexibility to teams and adapt the plan, approach and behaviour to different needs, cultures and situations;
  • A strong resilience, the ability to navigate through ambiguity and simplify complexity without losing essence.

Competencies and experience

  • More than 3 years of experience working with data, project managing, financial market platforms
  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing) and experienced in working in an international environment
  • Experienced in process management and working with outsourcing locations / delivery centres
  • Skilled in Excel and PowerPoint and able to present your work and ideas structured and clear

Wage (gross):
2 090 EUR/month
*By legal requirement we are providing the information about the basic wage component (minimum salary) for the advertised position. Based on your experience/profile, the final financial conditions will be the subject to discuss and negotiate at the personal interview, however, not less than above mentioned minimum salary component.
