Join our Enterprise Content & Automation Tribe as a Senior Engineer and lead the development of the GADS product. You'll focus on building and enhancing the repository component, enabling content ingestion via APIs, Kafka, and XFB, while managing permissions, bulk deletions, and legacy archive migrations. Collaborate with the Product Trinity and team to deliver a scalable, high-performance platform that transforms content management.

The team

As a Senior Engineer, you will take a leading role in developing the Global Archiving and Discovery Services (GADS) product within the Enterprise Content & Automation Tribe. Your primary responsibility will be the development of the repository component, which stores both structured and unstructured content in S3 through various ingestion interfaces, including APIs, Kafka, and XFB. In addition to content ingestion, you will drive critical developments such as managing content permissions, enabling bulk content deletion, and migrating content from legacy archives to GADS. Collaborating closely with the Product Trinity and the team, you will play a key role in enhancing the platform's scalability, performance, and overall user experience.

Roles and responsibilities

You will be part of a diverse and dynamic team, bringing together various nationalities and skill levels. As a Senior Engineer, you will serve as the primary point of contact for all development-related topics within the platform. You take initiative, drive results, and mentor junior engineers to grow and excel. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to design, build, and enhance GADS, a platform that demands high availability and handles significant load. Ensuring reliability and availability will be critical to the platform's success.

We are looking for the following skills and experience:

  • Experience with Java 11 or above

  • Experience with Apache Kafka and containerization technology

  • Experience with Amazon S3 SDK

  • Experience with handling concurrency in high load application

  • Strong architectural and problem solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills, can communicate in both business and technical language

  • Mentoring/guiding more junior engineers

  • Nice to have:

    • Experience with OnePAM models within ING

    • Experience with Spring WebFlux/Project Reactor

Stand-by shifts

GADS platform is used by many critical business processes within ING therefore GADS has to be available and functional 24/7. Employees needs to act quickly during unforeseen circumstances, such as calamities or incidents. For these (groups) of employees ING have set up a Stand-by regulation. To compensate for the inconvenience of being available at this time, a Stand-by compensation is awarded.

  • If you are designated by your lead for stand-by shifts to be available for incidents outside of your regular working hours, a Stand-by compensation is awarded.
