We started out in 2015 as ING’s software development hub – a distinct entity from ING Bank Romania – then steadily expanded our range to include more services and competencies.

Formerly known as ING Tech, as of 2022 we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities under the name of ING Hubs Romania and operate from two locations: Bucharest and Cluj.

With the help of 1400 engineers, risk and operations professionals, we offer 150 services in tech, non-financial risk & compliance, audit and retail operations to 24 ING units worldwide.

Our tech capabilities remain the core of our business, with more than 1100 colleagues active in Data Management, TouchPoint Channels & Integration and Core Banking.

The Mission

ING is looking for driven IT Ops Engineers, with a focus on quality, automation and security, to work on the e-trading platform. MarketView is a vendor-built key component of our eTrading platform providing pricing and trading integration for D2C and D2D markets, for the Rates and Credit businesses. This role is an exciting opportunity to be part a global eTrading development team that is distributed over London, Bucharest, Bangalore and Singapore.

ING is using this environment to connect to a large amount of trading exchanges worldwide to offer the sharpest pricing quotes and executions to our clients. Therefore, these systems are on dedicated infrastructure in special datacenters located in close proximity to the key markets.

The team consists of 12 engineers at a global level with 2 of them based in the MarketView chapter in ING Hubs Bucharest.

Your day to day

Even if you’ll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. Here are your daily responsibilities:

70% Delivery and Improvements:

• Work on technical improvements (automation, monitoring, setting up environments, Azure DevOps pipelines)
• Maintain both vendor and in-house built components to the latest versions, to keep in line with the latest demands and requirements from the stakeholders
• You take ownership of issues and improvements, seeing them through to completion, providing comprehensive handover as required.
• You assist with technical specifications for change requests and user stories
• Analyze requirements and define their applicability inside the technical environment
• Propose opportunities and innovations

30% Support:

• You readily deal with incidents and requests raised by our users, but also downstream customers.
• You are responsible for supporting a stable, performing, and secure platform/service
• Performing Incident, Problem and Change Management, including writing user stories for resolving problems

What you’ll bring to the team

• Experience:  4+ years of industry experience in IT (financial software)
• Tech stack/ knowledge:
  • Mandatory:
    • Knowledge of Agile Methodologies
    • An excellent spoken and written command of English
    • Understanding of Continuous Delivery concepts. Interactions with tools such as Git, Azure DevOps, Maven, Ansible
    • Strong Linux experience including shell scripting and python scripting
    • Experience with managing full-stack vendor packages, and additionally (low latency) infrastructural stack knowledge
    • Hands-on knowledge of monitoring tools (such as Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic Search), experience in working with communication protocols (such as message queues, file transfer, TCP/IP)
  • Nice to have:
    • Banking/Financial Markets products/processes knowledge (Fixed Income Products, FIX protocol)
    • Hand-on Experience with an ION application (e.g. MarketView, Broadway, Fidessa, Anvil)
    • Knowledge of one or more trading venues(e.g. Eurex, Bloomberg, MarketAxess, TradeWeb)
    • Willingness to gain functional knowledge related to the application
    • Willingness to travel to London for handover and trainings.
• Foreign languages: English (advanced)
• Education: nice to have Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in an IT related field
