Wholesale Banking Financial Markets (FM) has a challenging opportunity available for an ambitious professional. Our organization is growing rapidly and for our growing expertise hub we are searching for a Non-Financial Risk Specialist. The ideal candidate would be supporting FM management to successfully manage their non-financial risk and key control testing activities.

Focus areas

The scope of your responsibilities covers the support of the FM CCO (Compliance & Control Office) in Amsterdam with the implementation and monitoring of the FM non-financial risk management activities. You will maintain continuous oversight of the status and progress of the FM key control testing dashboards, results and standards, and you are the ‘go to’ expert for the relevant FM non-financial risk policies and the practical translation thereof within the FM front office. The right candidate should have affinity with Financial Markets, a risk management background, and strong analytical skills. In addition, the candidate should be able to work independently and be proficient in control execution by achieving effective results in an international complex and dynamic environment. Furthermore, the candidate is a good communicator and able to align with, and communicate to, all key stakeholders across the FM value chain. This entails maintaining close relationships with the second line of defence.

Your standard responsibilities will include:

Drive independent execution and testing of FM business controls;

Produce NFR status reports for the FM CCO;

Maintain oversight of FM NFR progress and help facilitate remedial actions;

Act as Expert Lead for the assigned controls in the area of FM business controls, compliance, and risk;

Liaise with business partners and 2nd Line of Defence to identify and understand where operational risks arise. Advise on how to manage the risk and improve the overall process;

Improving the Control Framework and aligning the processes towards consistent outcomes in order to demonstrate operational effectiveness towards internal and external stakeholders;

Incident and issue management – advice and support in creation, maintenance, and closure of issues;

Represent management in discussions with the 2nd Line of Defence Risk/Compliance to define adequate control standards and mitigating risk actions;

Facilitate other non-financial risk activities and present risk/control topics in front of various stakeholders.

We are looking for an inspiring, energetic, and approachable colleague, displaying the following

Personality requirements, experience and skills:

Experience and ability to successfully manage different stakeholders on the operational, tactical, and strategic level (3+ years of experience);

Experience with (operational) risk management;

Organizational sensitivity with persuasiveness-skills and ability to use indirect influence;

Strong work ethic combined with a structured and disciplined approach, resulting in ‘getting things done’;

Good team player;

Ability to cooperate with colleagues of different levels inside the company; Strong communication skills;

• Fluent in English (verbal and written) and experienced in working in an international environment;

Previous experience with financial market is an advantage.

Wage (gross)
From 2950 EUR/month

*By legal requirement we are providing the information about the basic wage component (minimum salary) for the advertised position. Based on your experience/profile, the final financial conditions will be the subject to discuss and negotiate at the personal interview, however, not less than above mentioned minimum salary component.
