Organizational Context:

COO Operational Design Control & Resilience (COO ODCR) is a function steers on the efficiency and effectiveness of implementing and managing 1LoD non-financial risk requirements, methodology and tools for ING. The aim of the team is to deliver on ING’s vision of Staying Safe & Secure by engaging and enabling ING (business) leaders via 8 standard processes to be in control of their respective domains hence contributing to ING’s Risk Culture. Through 1LoD Methodology, Reporting & Gatekeeper team, we define and own the 8 reference processes to enable all 1LoD risk and business owners to become more effective and efficient in non-financial risk management. And all that in close alignment with our 2LoD colleagues.

We are looking for a pragmatic, innovative & inspiring senior consultant with strong result- driven capabilities, who wants to help us move the needle when it comes to steer on the efficiency and effectiveness of the 1LoD risk and control management processes across ING.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Consultant Methodology, you will report to the head of 1LoD Methodology, Reporting & Gatekeeper (MRG) and collaborate with a team of 12 specialists in Amsterdam and Bratislava. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Enhancing efficiency and effectiveness of 1LoD NFR and compliance processes through robust and standardized design, implementation, monitoring, reporting, tooling, planning, and role descriptions across the bank.
  • Driving continuous improvements in 1LoD NFR and compliance methodologies and materials, in close collaboration with the 2LoD.
  • Facilitating engagement, best practice sharing, and collaboration among COO ODCR teams across all locations and HUBs.
  • Supporting COO ODCR business partners in their roles towards ING (business) leaders by enhancing transparency and steering the quality of guidance and training regarding NFR and compliance requirements.
  • Creating and standardizing methodologies for bank-wide reporting on control and resilience.
  • Fostering open and transparent communication and collaboration across COO ODCR Leads, ODCR CoEs, ODCR HUBs, and/or 2LoD to ensure globally developed methodologies are satisfactorily implemented.
  • Managing and optimizing activities provided by the ODCR HUBs in Bratislava and Manila. This includes managing services, assessing risks, forecasting volumes, and transitioning services from countries to hubs. This role requires close collaboration with the ODCR Hub leads and locations leads.
  • Ensuring service quality by working with the gateway service owner to document, track, and make agreements between the gateway and service recipients available and that they also align with the Hubs delivery teams plans and capabilities.
  • Collaborating and supporting the gateway service owner in Amsterdam, who oversees the overall relationships with receiving locations and the Hubs.

Personality requirements and skills:

  • You are a strategic thinker focused on continuous improvement and innovation.
  • You understand the business impact of implementing processes, methodologies, and tools.
  • You have a good knowledge of Non-Financial Risk and ERM Framework, and their relevance in banking processes and products.
  • You can develop and maintain methodologies to support the transformation agenda.
  • You have strong leadership and management skills with experience in cross-functional teams (experience as a team-lead is considered a strong advantage)
  • You possess excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • You can work effectively with global teams and manage multiple priorities.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in banking, business consultancy, or transformation roles.
  • Pragmatism: ability to translate high-level strategic vision and requirements into tactical and concrete actions.
  • Experience working in an international environment and achieving results with virtual teams across locations.
  • Proven track record in implementing large and complex changes.
  • Good understanding of the NFR Framework and relevant policies.
  • High resilience, with the ability to handle ambiguity and manage complexity.
  • Result-driven with a customer focus, able to build trust with senior leadership.
  • Eagerness to learn and take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Excellent English communication and presentation skills

Wage (gross)

  • 4 165 EUR/month
  • *By legal requirement we are providing the information about the basic wage component (minimum salary) for the advertised position. Based on your experience/profile, the final financial conditions will be the subject to discuss and negotiate at the personal interview, however, not less than above mentioned minimum salary component.
