Program Manager Tech Infrastructure & engineering

The opportunity

ING is looking for a passionate program & change manager who has experience in agile change execution in a dynamic, cross country technology environment. Do you want to help ING in their infrastructure transformation, moving towards multi-cloud, productizing of the cloud services, and implementing ransomware, resilience & reliability initiatives? If yes, then we are looking for you!

The team

The Transformation team within the Infrastructure Strategy and Enablement team is responsible to drive the change initiatives across the Infrastructure & Engineering organization, maximizing the planned investments by overseeing the execution, managing interdependencies, and embedding stakeholder management in programs to secure a greater chance of success. The number of cross-tribe change initiatives is growing and therefore we are looking to compliment the team with an enthusiastic, experienced change/program manager.

Roles and responsibilities

You will work on a wide variety of change initiatives which are strategic to the bank. Your responsibilities include:

  • You will lead the execution of change initiatives that contribute to Tech Infrastructure strategic priorities and make sure the bank remains resilient at all times.
  • You structure the change initiative into a clear scope, breakdown of deliverables and a detailed roadmap
  • You will engage stakeholders and involve teams via a governance with clear roles and responsibilities. You will typically be the chairperson for program meetings
  • You will track and steer the delivery on a daily basis
  • By ‘forward looking’ you identify and raise impediments and risks at the proper level
  • You will work with the business, tech and risk stakeholders from operational to senior management levels

But our ideal candidate brings in the following:

  • You have a strong cloud infrastructure/ reliability mindset background, understand the process of developing and deploying software, and are familiar with  architecture principles
  • You have at least 8 years of experience with IT project management in an agile environment, where you are not the boss but get things done by building relationships and convincing people.
  • You have worked with senior managers but can also build a relationship with IT engineers. You have organizational sensitivity and experience with complex stakeholder management.
  • You are convenient with working relatively individually. Of course, you have the support of your lead if you run into issues, but usually, there is not a large team working closely together on the initiatives described before.
  • You are enthusiastic about solving problems.
  • You are high resilient, with the ability to deal with ambiguity and a political environment.
  • Sound experience in building strategic roadmaps and proven experience in simplifying complexity and drive operational excellence.
  • Eager to deep dives into new topics, do research, analyse and write strategic documents & business cases.
  • Proactive, hands-on mentality, a positive mind-set and organizational sensitivity.
  • Excellent level of English and Dutch, communication and presentation skills,
