Role Summary

As an IT Area Lead , you lead and develop a team responsible for delivering and maintaining IT applications and services aligned with ING’s technology strategy. You set standards within your area, safeguard technical knowledge, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring compliance, quality, and sustainable delivery.

About the Team

You’ll work with a multidisciplinary technology team within ING Hubs Türkiye, collaborating closely with stakeholders across functions and geographies. Together, you contribute to large-scale digital initiatives and support ING’s global technology landscape with reliable and future‑ready solutions.

About you

  • Proven experience in leading and developing medium-sized IT teams within a complex organization
  • Strong understanding of delivering and maintaining IT applications and services in line with business and technology strategy
  • Hands-on experience with digital transformation initiatives, including agile ways of working and continuous improvement practices
  • Ability to translate strategy into clear plans, priorities, and measurable outcomes for the team
  • Solid background in resource, budget, and capacity planning, with an awareness of financial and operational implications
  • Experience in identifying risks, ensuring operational compliance, and applying internal policies, security, and regulatory standards
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working closely with senior management and cross-functional teams
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze performance metrics and use insights to guide decision-making
  • Demonstrated capability to foster a culture of learning, accountability, trust, and collaboration within teams
  • Comfortable operating in a global environment, considering diverse perspectives and organizational dynamics

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a medium-sized IT team, fostering high performance, engagement, and sustainable growth in line with ING’s culture and values
  • Set clear direction and standards within the IT area, ensuring strong alignment with ING’s global technology strategy and business priorities
  • Ensure reliable delivery, maintenance, and evolution of IT applications and services, supporting business continuity and long-term scalability
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives by applying agile ways of working, continuous improvement practices, and engineering excellence
  • Plan and manage resources, budgets, and capacity, balancing strategic ambitions with operational realities
  • Carry end-to-end accountability for IT risk, security, internal controls, and regulatory compliance within the area
  • Ensure full adherence to ING policies, audit requirements, and global risk frameworks, embedding risk awareness into day-to-day decision-making
  • Actively manage risk remediation plans, monitor control effectiveness, and follow up on audit findings to ensure timely closure
  • Partner closely with Risk, Security, and Compliance stakeholders to maintain transparency, trust, and a strong control environment
  • Act as a senior technology counterpart for global ING stakeholders, including product and platform owners
  • Translate strategic objectives into clear execution priorities for both local and global teams
  • Proactively align on roadmaps, dependencies, and capacity across hubs and countries to ensure smooth delivery
  • Represent the IT area in executive reviews, governance forums, and steering committees, contributing to informed decision-making
  • Ensure strong service ownership, covering incident, problem, change, and capacity management
  • Drive operational maturity through automation, reliability engineering, and the use of service performance metrics
  • Continuously improve onboarding, run-books, documentation, and support models, strengthening resilience and efficiency
