We are looking to strengthen the Asset and Liability Management (ALM) department with an enthusiastic ALM professional, who is highly motivated to join our ALM Platform & Change squad.

ING is building one standard implementation for Interest Rate Risk and Forecasting in the banking books and liquidity management. Regulations and internal risk management insights require us to constantly enhance our ALM & liquidity management capabilities. 

The team 

Within our ALM Tribe we aim to develop new functionality and methodologies for risk management and finance departments in one target platform (QRM). The ALM project team or Tribe (± 90 people) is divided into smaller squads of around nine Business Analysts.

The ALM Platform and Change squad is focusing on building a renewed and automated change & release management layer to facilitate all ING locations from one central place in the organization. The team consists of highly motivated professionals working in an international environment with lots of growth and development opportunities. 

The mission

Our objective is to roll-out the “ING standard” configuration for to all locations in which ING is operating. Aim is to report and calculate not only the core and regulatory Risk figures (NII- and NPV-@risk) but also dynamically assist the business decision.

When joining the team you will work on the implementation of (amongst others) the new ALM changes, as well as assisting the team with test analysis before releasing to Production. This means you are working closely together with stakeholders like Market Risk management, Modeling, IT TECH, Global Treasury, Finance and the ALM Data and project teams.

Roles and responsibilities

You will help with building the target ALM solution and implementation of new ALM processes and functionalities:

  • Execute and analyze the impact on risk figures due to multiple changes in the system

  • Improve and own the current ALM change and release process

  • Explain results and figures to various locations and users of the system

  • Implement new functionality in our target platform, such as new behavioral models and strategies

  • Aim is output figures for reporting are covered in full and signed off by the users

  • Sparring partner for Risk & Finance stakeholders

A successful candidate should have strong analytical skills and the ability to create, challenge and improve risk monitoring techniques and processes. The candidate should have good communication skills and a pro-active attitude, willingness to learn new things and a drive to continuously look for improvement. Furthermore

  • Good communication skills (in English)

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Master’s degree in econometrics, mathematics, economics or similar quantitative study

  • IT affinity is a plus: Experience with MS SQL Server and ETL processes (development or configuration)

  • Experience in testing and release management
