Frontend Development Internship - Amsterdam - 32 hours/week

Join our Intelligent Automation Area - Content Orchestration engineering team and help shape the future of Enterprise Content and Automation tribe! You'll work with enterprise-grade technologies like Node.js and Lit components to build scalable, user-centric applications that hundreds of customers rely on every day.

The team

You'll be part of our dynamic development team that plays a core role in the Intelligent Automation Area within Enterprise Content and Automation tribe. We're responsible for creating modular, scalable architectures that power our customer-facing applications. Our team works closely with backend developers, designers, and product owners in an agile environment where your ideas matter and your deliveries make a real impact on how customers experience banking. We believe in continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and building solutions that are both innovative and maintainable.

Roles and responsibilities

As our Frontend Development Intern, you'll dive deep into modern web development while contributing to real projects that reach millions of users:

  • Developing dynamic, reusable components using Lit and Node.js for our enterprise-grade applications 
  • Building and maintaining single page applications with modular, scalable frontend architectures 
  • Creating metadata-driven UI solutions that enable dynamic form rendering and variant-driven experiences 
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align API contracts and ensure seamless frontend-backend integration 
  • Supporting component and integration testing efforts to maintain high code quality 
  • Contributing to our custom component libraries and helping evaluate architectural decisions 
  • Participating in agile development processes and providing input on user-centric design solutions

  • Strong foundation in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS with enthusiasm for modern web technologies 
  • Experience with frontend frameworks or component libraries (React, Angular, Vue, or similar) 
  • Understanding of modular architecture principles and scalable frontend development 
  • Familiarity with Node.js and client-side rendering concepts 
  • Passion for creating user-centric, maintainable code with attention to testing and quality 
  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset for cross-functional teamwork
