At ING, we believe that accessibility is not just a requirement — it’s a responsibility. That’s why we’re looking for a passionate and experienced Global Accessibility Consultant to join our Global Accessibility Centre of Expertise (CoE), reporting to the CoE Lead within the COO People domain.

The team

At ING’s Global Accessibility Centre of Expertise (CoE), we are working on making ING the most accessible bank in the world for our customers, employees and visitors. We do this by creating and managing (global) policies, creating awareness and education within ING, engage with external stakeholders, coordinate global projects and provide guidance on a wide range of accessibility topics.

By joining our CoE, you will become part of the network of likeminded professionals and stakeholders on accessibility throughout ING, like Enable, ING’s Disability Inclusion employee network/ERG, Risk, Tech and business experts. The CoE has for mission to advise and support international, multidisciplinary teams on the application of accessibility for our 48 million customers and 60.000 colleagues, in close cooperation with global and local stakeholders.

Roles and responsibilities

In this role you focus on establishing, enforcing, safeguarding, and evolving accessibility controls, standards, instructions, and quality criteria used to drive accessibility in support of ING customers and employees. Resulting in not only being regulatory compliant but also placing ING at the pinnacle of accessibility in the view of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Create and extend accessibility awareness and education within ING

  • Monitoring the regulatory environment supporting a proactive response by ING

  • Guard accessibility policies, standards, and risks and advice senior management on proper updates

  • Assuring accessibility principles are injected in product/services/channel design and development within the expert’s domains

  • Identify gaps in prerequisites and/or targets on domain and country level

  • Contribute to CoE mission with clear focus and mandate.

  • Represent ING externally in various situations such as conferences, networks, and taskforces on accessibility

  • +5 years’ experience in an international accessibility consultant role with knowledge on accessibility legislation: EAA, DDA, Equality Act, ADA, and others

  • Knowledge on accessibility in spirit of the UN CRPD

  • IAAP certification for Certified Professional Accessibility Core Competences (CPACC) (or equivalent)

  • Preferably experience in banking and working in cross-functional teams

  • Network in the European, preferably Global Accessibility community is a plus

Competencies

  • Fluent in English, oral and written

  • Manoeuvres comfortably through complex policy, process, and people-related organizational dynamics

  • Ability to execute delivery roadmap with discipline and proactivity

  • Strong advocate of accessibility and finds intrinsic motivation on the subject
