ING Retail Banking serves more than 40 million customers across 10 countries. The Global Retail organisation is end-to-end responsible for the three retail segments: Private Individuals (PI), Business Banking, and Private Banking & Wealth Management. Private Individuals is the largest client segment  in ING, and is an important growth driver in ING’s Growing the Difference strategy.

As the Private Individuals Strategy Lead you will directly report to the Global Head of the Private Individuals segment and manage a team of consultants. Your team supports the Global Head of Private Individuals in setting the segment strategy and priorities, drive effective and consistent execution across our retail markets and steer the P&L of this segment. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of strategic topics that contribute to further growing the Private Individuals segments across all products. Your work will have an impact on our more than 40 million customers  across 10 countries, and support further growth of the largest business franchise of ING.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the PI strategy team of ~6 consultants, including dividing work, steering output, and coaching/developing the team

  • Co-creating the global Private Individuals vision, strategy and roadmap and translating this into short & longer-term business objectives and steer realisation of those across countries

  • Drive the execution of Private Individuals related global projects and deliverables, in close coordination with the global product communities and Private Individuals teams in the 10 retail countries

  • Provide high quality, data-driven information to senior management to track execution and delivery on Private Individuals priorities and drive informed decision making;

  • Follow relevant external market trends and represent ING’s Private Individuals segment in several internal and external forums

Key Skills

  • Ability to effectively manage, motivate and further develop team of consultants

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact efficiently with senior stakeholders up to ING Management board level

  • Sound understanding of key Retail Banking trends, metrics and ability to proactively translate these into concrete value accretive initiatives

  • Strong resilience and ability to navigate through ambiguity

Personal Profile

  • Master’s degree

  • >8 years experience in strategy / consultancy, or investment banking

  • Experience in leading execution and delivery of (cross-border) strategic projects

  • You are fluent in written and spoken English
