The team
Client Tax Services is a small, highly specialized unit that fulfils the ING tax obligations related to:

• US Tax Withholding and reporting (USW);

• FATCA/CRS reporting (F/C);

• DAC6 reporting;

• CESOP reporting;

• Client Form Validation;

• Tax Documentation re. Relief at Source and Tax reclaim;

• QI & FATCA Certifications IRS.

The objective of the department is to ensure that ING meets its client tax reporting obligations and is compliant with the tax regulations in the countries in which its operate. Furthermore the service oriented nature of the department implies we are generally involved in supporting other ING departments such as Wholesale Banking and Retail Banking located in different countries across the globe in improving data, operations or client servicing.

As an intern with CTS you will learn all about specialised client tax requirements and how ING helps its clients and the bank comply with these requirements. You will be involved and support the team with many different activities related to client taxes, such as USW, F/C, DAC6 and CESOP.

You will work with experienced colleagues and assist with form validations, data analyses and various day to day operational activities.

Roles and responsibilities
Below main responsibilities are identified for the Internship Client Tax Services CTS:

  • Supporting reviews of client tax documentation and classifications.
  • Assisting in the development of internal guidance, training, and process documentation.
  • Analysing data sets to identify trends, anomalies, or compliance risks.
  • Helping improve reporting processes related to FATCA/CRS, CESOP, and US Withholding Tax.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across Compliance, Legal, Operations, and IT to implement change initiatives.

We are looking for:

  • You’re currently enrolled in a Master’s or final-year Bachelor programme in Law, Tax, Economics, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field.
  • You have a strong interest in financial regulation, compliance, and/or tax.
  • You’re comfortable working with data (e.g. Excel, Power BI, or basic SQL is a plus).
  • You’re analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
  • You’re proactive, curious, and enjoy working in a collaborative, international environment.
  • You communicate clearly in English.
