Are you a law student with a passion for AI and innovation?  Join ING's Payments, Data & Innovation Legal team in Amsterdam and gain hands-on experience with topics such as Generative AI, the AI Act, and data governance. Work alongside experienced lawyers and develop your expertise at the intersection of law, technology, and innovation.

The team
The Payments, Data & Innovation (PDI) Legal team advises ING on the legal and regulatory aspects of payments, data, and emerging technologies. We specialize in areas such as payment regulation (PSD2, PSD3 and PSR), data protection (GDPR), artificial intelligence (AI Act), digital assets (MiCAR), and other innovation-related regulation

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the team in analysing legal and regulatory developments relating to AI, data and technology, including the AI Act and other emerging regulatory frameworks;

  • Assist in preparing legal research, impact assessments and practical legal guidance for internal stakeholders;

  • Support legal assessments of proposed AI use cases and help the team navigate internal governance and risk processes;

  • Gain exposure to a broad network of experts involved in the development and deployment of AI and data-driven solutions within ING; and

  • Support the development of AI Agents within the Legal department.

Qualifications:

  • You are enrolled in a university programme, preferably with a focus on technology law, data protection, intellectual property, digital regulation or artificial intelligence.

  • You have a demonstrated interest in AI, emerging technologies and their legal and regulatory implications, and are eager to deepen your expertise in this rapidly evolving field.

  • You reside in the Netherlands and are ready to work from our Amsterdam offices. 

  • You are comfortable handling a variety of tasks, ranging from legal research and regulatory analysis to supporting practical legal advice on innovative technologies.

  • You have a strong command of English, both written and spoken. Another foreign language is a plus
