Job Details

Project name and description

ING NL is currently executing the biggest migration in the Dutch mortgages market ever. In the so called Morse project, the administration of mortgages, the biggest portfolio of Retail NL, will be transferred to the external service provider Stater. Next to that, ING’s outdated mortgage data landscape will be redeveloped. This is an immense job and as such the whole ING organisation, including the Market Risk Management tribe (MRM), is affected.

The team

Within MRM a project oriented squad is launched, the Morse MRM squad, to adapt its market and liquidity risk framework. This is done to safeguard its modeling, reporting and hedging activities. The challenge of the Morse MRM squad is to deliver in a complex environment, with many stakeholders and with high stakes involved.

Roles and responsibilities

As an intern you will participate in the redevelopment of one of our mortgage data flows (on-balance, offers or prepayments data).

Together with one of senior colleagues you will investigate changes to our data deliveries by the Stater migration and the data landscape redevelopment. In consultation with our data delivering party (Data management) you need to make sure that MRM gets the input that is required.

As a next step, you and your colleague need to adapt our framework (data processing and tooling) for occasions where data management cannot meet our requirements.

Lastly, you and your colleague need to assess the impact on our modelling, risk measurement and hedging of certain changes. Relevant impact needs to be presented to, and approved by, our Asset and Liability Committee, in which a.o. our CEO, CRO and CFO have a seat.

How does the introduction for the trainee look like?

From the first day of your assignment, you will be connected to one of our colleagues in the squad. He or she will serve as a buddy, and makes sure that you will be properly introduced to our squad and the rest of the MRM Tribe. Your buddy will be there for all your questions on content and on the softer side of things.

We work agile, as such we will include you from your start in a lot of agile ceremonies which will help you to get-up-to speed quickly. Next to that, you will learn rapidly from working together with a senior colleague.

How to succeed

We hire smart people like you for your potential. Our biggest expectation is that you’ll stay curious. Keep learning. Take on responsibility. In return, we’ll back you to develop into an even more awesome version of yourself.

Specific Knowledge/Skills Required:
