The Creative Studio team at the Center of Expertise (CoE) Brand, Marketing & Communications is looking for a Senior Copywriter to take on the creation and translation of high-quality, on-brand written content for English-speaking clients in the Dutch market. This role involves both translating Dutch original copy to English and creating original content, as well as managing the translation process through external agencies and tooling.

As a bank and one of the most familiar brands in the Netherlands, working for the CoE requires the ability to work in a highly dynamic and complex landscape, servicing the wide base of ING customers as well as all product tribes and business lines within ING NL.

The team
As Senior Copywriter, you’ll join the Creative Studio team and report to the Head of the Creative Studio. The team’s purpose is to develop and execute creative productions that engage both internal (employee) and external target audiences, ensuring output is on-brand, effective, and efficient.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Content Creation: Turn creative briefs into original copy for various online and offline touchpoints in English, including websites, social media, letters to clients, newsletters, and more.

  • Editorial Writing: Produce appealing articles, inspirational editorial content, interviews, background articles, and other editorial content pieces in English.

  • Copy translation: translation of ING’s Dutch original copy to English, tailored to a variety of target audiences and both online and offline platforms

  • Translation Management: Oversee the translation of ING’s Dutch original copy to English, managing relationships with external agencies and utilizing tools.

  • Copy Editing and Correction: Optimise, revise and correct copy to ensure it is on-brand, adheres to guidelines, and lives up to ING’s quality standards

  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all written content aligns with the brand’s voice and guidelines.

  • Innovation: Stay curious and innovative, utilising new tools and technologies to enhance content creation and translation processes.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including designers and videographers, to produce cohesive and engaging content.

  • Content Quality: Ensure all written content is engaging, accurate, and tailored to the target audience.

How to succeed

  • Experience: 7 years of experience in copywriting and translation management, preferably within a creative agency or marketing environment.

  • Skills: Native-level proficiency in English and Dutch, strong writing and editing skills, excellent understanding of grammar and style, ability to write for various formats and audiences. Well versed in copy editing as well as editorial copywriting and storytelling. Proficient in using content creation and translation tools. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, strong attention to detail, and a keen eye for engaging and effective content.

  • Degree: A degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
