ING Financial Markets (FM) part of ING Wholesale Banking (WB) is the Bank’s gateway to the professional markets around the world. Our primary function is to service the needs of ING’s clients with products, services, and guidance. FM aims to be a significant player in our market leader and challenger markets, with an additional presence in all the major international markets and specialist expertise in selected emerging markets and products. Group Treasury (GT) facilitates ING's business development by ensuring that ING's capital, funding, and liquidity positions are adequate at all times, commensurate with ING's consolidated businesses and their plans, both in a going concern situation as well as in stressed situations.

The Team

As the Tribe Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of approximately 400 to 500 professionals, including product area leads, product managers, product owners, customer journey experts, and engineers. The tribe operates globally, with stakeholders and delivery capacity across the globe.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with your counterparts from WB Tech, the IT Area Leads. Together, you will be accountable for all aspects of delivery and for building the supporting organization and team to achieve your objectives. Additionally, some teams within the Tribe Trade Processing are outside the FM Front Office and WB Tech, requiring you to ensure that your objectives are supported by other ING departments.

Role & Responsibilities

As an inspiring Tribe Lead for the Financial Markets and Group Treasury (FMGT) Trade Processing Tribe you create an environment where people can reach their full potential and where  Product Area Leads, Product Managers, Product Owners and squads have the confidence to take responsibility for realizing value for ING and its WB customers. You act as an ambassador to all stakeholders within or outside of WB Financial Markets and Group Treasury through frequent interaction and alignment. The FMGT Trade Processing Tribe Lead is part of the FMGT Cluster Tribe Management Team and reports hierarchically to the FMGT Cluster Tribe Lead with functional reporting lines to Financial Markets Front Office, Group Treasury, and Operations / IT.

As Tribe Lead Trade Processing, you own all FMGT solutions required to capture and process trades. You align Epics and programs towards FM and GT Trade Processing related objectives and work with the relevant Product Area Leads to steer backlogs. You share a responsibility to improve ING’s performance and identify opportunities to better serve our customers by:

  • Ensuring reliable and efficient deal capture and processing;
  • Translating the business strategy into change delivery;
  • Ensuring priority setting inline with Financial Markets and Group Treasury business objectives;
  • Strengthening the “ING way of working” while safeguarding the Orange Code as a role model;
  • Managing dependencies and stimulating interaction between people, tribes, products, squads, and chapters (within and outside the Trade Processing Tribe).

Within the FM/GT Tribe Trade Processing, the areas are organized reflecting business products. You will steer the Trade Processing Tribe across different countries with different cultures and in different time zones.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and continuously improve Trade Processing solutions required for FM and GT business, covering the entire product scope across all regions;
  • Achieve and maintain all internal and external regulatory compliance responsibilities for your Tribe for existing, changed, and new regulations in your scope;
  • Deliver on the Financial Markets and Group Treasury operating model strategy;
  • Deliver on the Trade Processing solutions standardization, consolidation, and simplification strategy;
  • Directly engage with all key stakeholders from FM Trading and Sales, and Group Treasury; as well as Operations, Finance, Risk Management and external regulators;
  • Ensure priority setting of backlogs supported by all stakeholders
  • Drive continuous improvement for your Tribe to increase the output and speed up the delivery time to market;
  • Ensure optimal collaboration and a close feedback loop
  • Build and own the Continuous Delivery pipeline for front office solutions, joint deployment, and testing;
  • Continuously strive for strategic-centric solutions and further standardization in your area, with other Tribes/areas and across FM and GT Products.

Proven Track Record and Skills:

  • Master’s degree level.
  • 5+ years’ proven track record at management level.
  • A personality and the capabilities to optimally function within an Agile environment.
  • Experience in guiding and realizing change.
  • Experience in managing relationships and delivery for senior stakeholders.
  • Experience/affinity with Wholesale Banking Tribes/Product Area(s) is a plus.
  • Experience with Markets and Treasury.
  • Affinity with IT is a plus.
  • Sound experience in building strategic roadmaps.
  • Expertise in driving and steering multidisciplinary teams (BizDevOps).
  • Proven experience in strategic projects with high impact.
  • Excellent level of English.
