Job description
As a Treasury Specialist at Bank Mendes Gans your main responsibility is ensuring the liquidity of the bank by trading FX and MM products with ING and external counterparties.


Your primary accountability is to prudently manage BMG’s balance sheet and optimize revenue generation within BMG’s risk appetite. You are well aware and act in accordance with applicable regulations and ING/BMG policies. You will also perform FX Sales and Trading activities (FX Spot) and interact with clients about interest rate developments. Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for the optimal operation of BMG Treasury as an integral component of both the BMG Business as well as ING Global Treasury and Capital Management.

Next to this, you will be a strategic partner to the business and be the first go-to point for matters regarding financial markets, liquidity, p&l, interest rate developments etc. You will regularly contribute in strategic (ad-hoc) projects and prepare memos / presentations, manage and coordinate all project related tasks that the BMG Treasury team performs.


You will initiate and manage projects that drive improvements which could range from process automations at the desk to developing BMG’s product offering. You will drive content, perform stakeholder management and take initiative to realize your goals.

You have a bachelor/master working and thinking level. You are analytically strong,  have affinity for numbers, can structure complex problems and are result driven.

  • 1-5 years of sales and trading experience in financial markets with FX/MM products
  • You develop and maintain an internal network and an international network of banks and colleagues for the purpose of effectively closing transactions
  • Proficient in use of Bloomberg and Excel
  • You have overall knowledge of liquidity management and (FX) hedging for corporates
  • You have an understanding of relevant Regulatory, Legal and Reporting requirements
  • Strategic thinker and able to interact with the BMG Management Team
  • Constant drive for improvements
  • You are good at communicating, presenting and selling your ideas
  • You are enthusiastic and a real team player for whom stakeholders management comes naturally
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and preferably in Dutch
  • Knowledge of BMG’s products and processes is a strong plus
