The Mission

We are looking for a Domain Architect for Financial Markets & Group Treasury with architecture experience in a large and international oriented company, showing us how to improve and to keep offering the best services to our clients.

Financial Markets (FM) is the Bank’s gateway to the capital markets around the world. Our primary function is to service the needs of ING’s clients and other ING business lines with products, services, and guidance. FM aims to be a significant player in our market leader and challenger markets, with an additional presence in all the major international markets and specialist expertise in selected emerging markets and products.
Group Treasury’s (GT) overarching objective is to facilitate business development for our commercial businesses and for our Financial Markets trading.
As domain architect you will contribute to the architecture function supporting the FM> Tech Tribe.

Your day to day

As a Domain Architect you will be part of the Wholesale Banking Centre of Excellence (COE) Architecture. You translate business vision and strategy into effective domain architecture by creating, communicating, and improving the key principles and models that describe the current and future state. You execute the global Business & IT Roadmap process, with centralised designs and (logical) global decompositions, analyses market- and IT-trends and, based on this information, contributes to the strategy of the organization.

Your key responsibilities

  • Facilitate efficient architecture delivery and support the FMGT Tribe and the business by providing impactful architecture on cross domain and end-to-end complex environments.

  • Work with Tech and business representatives to come to a (logical) target architecture taking requirements, ING standards and standard solutions into account.

  • Work with Solution Architects to translate the logical architecture into the technical/solution architecture.

  • Develop and maintain relevant architectural artifacts, including application architectures, roadmaps, data models and other relevant documentation.

  • Use different patterns and elaborate designs to cover the non-functional requirements especially on the resilience and performance areas.

  • Perform Architecture Management; support delivery of target architecture/solutions by quality decision making.

  • Contribute to the COE Architecture organisation to improve way of working, tooling, etc…

  • Trusted advisor for business, IT, and fellow architects within your expertise.

What you'll bring to the team

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field/ equivalent work experience.

  • You have at least 5 years of experience as an IT architect or similar (IT) function.

  • Domain knowledge: excellent understanding of Financial Markets products and its business processes.

  • Experience in working in a highly regulated environment (e.g., financial institutions)

  • Curious mindset: you are up to date with the architecture trends and market development (vendors, other financial institutions).

  • Good understanding of architecture standards and frameworks.

  • T-shape knowledge profile, you have experience “front to back” but can zoom in where necessary.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex architecture topics to various audiences.

  • Ability to develop strong and collaborative partnerships with organizational leaders.

  • You improve yourself constantly; and you challenge, improve and train others continuously.

  • Knowledge of and experience with IT architecture methodologies, processes (e.g. TOGAF), service management processes and an agile work environment.
