The mission

ING is looking for a passionate Software Developer for the Reporting API team in Infrastructure & Engineering Strategy Enablement (ISE) that will play a pivotal role in developing our testing strategy.

In Infrastructure & Engineering, we are innovating our Hybrid Cloud offering by building the newest version of the ING Private Cloud (IPC), optimizing strategic co-location data centers, and establishing the Public Cloud foundation.

Given that Reporting API is the application that provides customers a centralized source for data and insights for the ING Cloud Infrastructure, it plays a critical role in the ING Infrastructure landscape. Currently, our team is live for 1 year and the team has 6 talented engineers in both the Netherlands and Poland.

Hence, we've left the application PoC phase and have entered the exciting growing stage. As such, you’ll be working closely with our engineers helping the team to build the product that meets the high-quality standards of ING.

Your day-to-day

  • Add unit testing, API testing, data quality testing and end-to-end testing using industry-standard tools with the team;
  • Collaborate with developers and analysts to improve data quality, ensure accurate reporting, and optimize workflows;
  • Create comprehensive documentation ensuring transparency and traceability;
  • Ensure adherence to best practices for software testing, CI/CD integration, and data governance;
  • Develop new features and work with the team members to improve reliability and quality of the product;
  • Working with other backend engineers to develop our API product written in Golang.

What you bring to the team

  • 3+ years of experience in software development, preferably with a focus on data-driven applications;
  • Experience in software testing (Unit testing, API testing, Integration testing, etc.);
  • Understanding in test automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash);
  • Knowledge and experience with Golang and web application development;
  • Strong understanding of SQL, including writing complex queries;
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines;
  • Knowledge and experience working with Linux;
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps;
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams;
  • Willingness to learn new skills and languages.

What will be a plus

  • Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and security best practices;
  • Experience working in data driven applications;
  • Familiarity with Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Snowflake, Redshift);
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus;
  • Experience with BI tools or analogues is good-to-have;
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines;
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
