 Business Control Officer

The Tribe Data Management is building-up a team within ING Business Shared Services Manila to enable robust data management processes for the Wholesale Data Management Operations. The team will cooperate closely with expertise teams across different ING locations.

As a Business Control Officer, you will be responsible for several ING data frameworks, such as Data Management and Record Retention, Global Data Protection Policy (GDPP) and Deposit Guarantee Scheme (DGS). In this position you will be working as part of the Business Controls team and will help ensure that ING entities stay in control of their risk management activities. 

If you are good at: 

  • Delivery and implementation of data related Non-Financial Risk (NFR) frameworks, e.g.

developing presentations as well as planning and organizing community meetings with local Business Control officers and global service providers.

  • Execution of Key Control Testing (KCT) activities for data related NFR frameworks, including progress tracking and reporting
  • Providing advice on issues or gaps identified within control testing activities
  • Demonstrating and evidencing ‘being in control’ of risks within the data management processes 
  • Execution of (operational) planning and activities within Wholesale and Retail Banking with regard to data frameworks and focusing on NFR deliverables
  • Working with counterparts across the globe, i.e. to coordinate on data related BCO activities such as KCT, process alignment and implementation
  • Working on data related auditory issues and tasks

If you are: 

A professional and mature individual demonstrating the following: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree holder in areas of Information Technology, Business Management, Finance or Accounting or any related field
  • With minimum of seven years overall working experience, and at least three years of experience on Data Governance and Management, Non-Financial Risk Management, Data Protection or similar framework 
  • Knowledge of Non-Financial Risk procedures and set-up or other Risk Management principles
  • Strong affinity with Data Management and Governance
  • Self-starter with a great ability to work in a global team across various locations 
  • Result-oriented and able to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems 
  • With strong work ethic combined with a structured and disciplined approach, resulting in ‘getting things done’
  • Pro-active, has can-do mentality to ‘take it on and make it happen’
  • Business savvy or have organizational sensitivity 
  • Excellent English language and communication skills - both written and spoken, 
  • With good working knowledge of MS Office

If you can: 

  • Learn quickly about data and bank related policies and standards
  • Work on key data and risk areas such as Data Governance and Management, Data Protection, Data Privacy or Non-Financial Risk Management 
  • Display integral, cross-domain knowledge, strong relationship management with prior experience working collaboratively in a cross functional team 
  • Communicate and explain well in a clear & concise manner (verbal and written) 
  • Maintain transparency, flexibility and be motivated to make every day a success 
  • Easily adapt to new and agile environment
