ING is looking for an Analyst to further bolster its SSA DCM team, based in London. The ING SSA DCM team works with Supranationals, Sub-Sovereigns and Agencies (SSAs) on international financings in public and private markets, either in conventional or green/sustainable format. The role will provide you with significant exposure and insight into all aspects of the SSA sector.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:

  • Day to day support of (senior) originators in all aspects of client coverage

  • Maintaining and improving transaction and pricing databases

  • Staying on top of current market developments and preparing market and pricing updates

  • Preparing pitches and proposals for existing and new clients, undertaking relevant analysis, selling ING’s knowledge and capabilities in the sector, with the support of senior originators

  • Assisting in transaction management execution and taking a lead role in certain aspects thereof, ensuring an overall smooth execution process

  • Ensuring proper record keeping and preparing transaction files for compliance and other internal control purposes

  • Liaising with other key ING internal stakeholders, including Bond Syndicate desk, Fixed Income Trading and Sales, MTN desk, Risk Management, etc. to identify opportunities, enhance internal cooperation and to maximize client touch points

  • Take care, in line with ING standards, of continuity, quality, reliability, ethical behaviour and discipline, avoid reputation risk

  • Any ad-hoc analysis and projects as required by your Manager

Candidate Profile:

Essential

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economic, or related field

  • Prior experience in Debt Capital Markets (e.g. analyst, internship position) or any other relevant environment in the finance industry

  • Ability to present in a coherent, convincing and confident manner

  • Pro-active mentality with a strong work ethic, flexibility of approach, the willingness to work under pressure, the ability to multi-task and with an attention for detail and

  • Knowledge of international bond markets, macro-economic knowledge

  • Excellent (English) writing skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Demonstrate interest in financial markets and/or economics

Desirable

  • Additional European language(s)

  • Experience in coding in VBA

  • Previous experience of using Bloomberg

  • CFA Level 1
