INTERNSHIP - Payments Processing

As a Payments Processing Intern, you will join a team of 12 people within the Lending & Payments Operations department for a minimum 6-month internship starting in September.

The Payments Processing team is responsible for handling all types of payments for the Bank (incoming funds, payment orders, direct debits, etc.) for both Retail and Wholesale Banking clients. The team’s main responsibilities include:

  • Controlling and validating all payment and cash management operations, regardless of the input/output channels and the complexity of the transaction;
  • Processing client instructions (internal or external) while respecting cut-off times, treasury notifications, authorization checks, etc., to ensure proper execution of client operations;
  • Analyzing complex payment operations to apply the appropriate processing;
  • Providing information and advice to internal clients on payment products and processes, transaction handling, and regulatory matters.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Receive, verify authorizations and signatures, and dispatch non-electronic payment instructions in accordance with current procedures;
  • Perform various administrative and technical tasks within the department: interbank fee payments, invoicing, investigations, etc.;
  • Carry out various post-trade controls;
  • Participate in process improvement and knowledge-sharing projects.

Profile:

Education:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree (BAC +3) in Economics/Finance or equivalent qualification.

Experience:

  • A first experience in a similar role is considered an asset.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical, judgment, and communication skills;
  • Administrative rigor and excellent organizational skills, especially in priority management;
  • Initiative and potential for autonomy in work;
  • High motivation to learn and strong commitment to the role;
  • Flexibility and proactivity in handling daily tasks;
  • Strong client orientation and proven team spirit.

Languages:

  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written, is essential.
