Your role & work environment

As a Customized Portfolio Manager, you are responsible for managing discretionary portfolios and dedicated funds in line with clients’ needs, the investment strategy, and regulatory requirements. You actively contribute to investment decisions, portfolio construction, and client reporting.

You will be part of the Portfolio Management team, working closely with investment specialists, commercial teams, and external stakeholders to deliver tailored investment solutions and ensure high-quality portfolio management.

Your key responsibilities

Manage discretionary portfolios and dedicated funds

  • Monitor discretionary accounts under your responsibility in a MiFID II environment and ensure compliance with investment rules, the investment universe, client profiles, investment decisions, and operational processes.

  • Manage dedicated funds in full regulatory compliance and maintain regular coordination with the management company.

  • Actively manage investment portfolios while monitoring financial markets and market developments.

Develop investment solutions and portfolio strategies

  • Draft investment proposals for discretionary mandates in line with client needs and the ING Luxembourg investment charter.

  • Contribute to the design and updating of model portfolios.

  • Participate in sourcing new investment ideas and cross-asset investment solutions for customized portfolios.

Provide expertise and stakeholder support

  • Prepare ad hoc and recurring reporting for clients under your responsibility and ensure transparent communication on portfolio strategy and results.

  • Actively contribute to investment committees.

  • Support the commercial force through presentations, training sessions, and investment expertise, with a strong focus on asset allocation and multi-asset solutions.

As a Customized Portfolio Manager you will also need:

  • Master's degree with 5 to 7 years of experience in discretionary portfolio management (bank mandates, life insurance, or dedicated UCITS/AIF funds).

  • Strong multi-asset knowledge and a solid understanding of macroeconomics.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex investment topics and support commercial teams.

  • Fluent in French and English. Knowledge of Dutch, German and/or Luxembourgish is considered an asset.

  • CFA designation is considered an asset.

  • Team spirit, autonomy, and a proactive mindset.
