Job Overview

COO Risk sits at the heart of the bank's complexity. We translate our complex banking business exposures into impacts on risk-weighted assets and provisions, aligning with constantly changing business demands and regulatory requirements. We engage in end-to-end transformation, including regulatory changes, constructing and maintaining risk applications, and managing daily operational activities. Our vision is to effectively implement necessary transformations and manage our daily processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting on credit risk, liquidity risk, market risk, and non-financial risk for our internal and external stakeholders.

Among the key teams under COO Risk is the Data Distribution Squad, part of the COO Risk Service Organization Tribe. This team is responsible for delivering unaltered calculated risk data to all internal and external consumers within ING for modeling, reporting, and dashboarding purposes. The team also supports the enhancement and maintenance of risk data distribution. Our overarching goal is to establish a more centralized approach to risk data delivery, streamline processes, and eliminate redundant requirements impacting Credit Risk, which involves close coordination with many tribes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute all data distribution activities such as data analysis, validating, combining and interpreting data by collaborating with multiple teams across ING to manage the end-to-end data delivery process.
  • Enhance data delivery processes, ensuring the quality, consistency, and accuracy of data.
  • Foster connections among colleagues, topics, and expertise, maintaining continuous communication with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Create a structured roadmap for all data delivery activities.
  • Create and manage product backlog items, and order the backlog to maximize business value. Prioritize as new information emerges, and keep stakeholders informed.


Key Capabilities/Experience

  • Experience in data warehousing, ETL concepts, SQL, Oracle PL/SQL is a plus.
  • Familiarity with agile tools such as Azure DevOps and Confluence.
  • Data Management Experience:
    • Familiar with data, advanced analytics, and data-driven products particularly in financial or credit risk.
    • Expertise in interpreting, processing, and analyzing large and complex datasets from various sources.
    • Ability to ensure the accuracy and completeness of data for reporting purposes.
    • Capability to identify and implement more efficient methods for data distribution.
  • Proficient in identifying problems, analyzing key information, and making connections to find appropriate solutions.
  • Vigilant in data analysis to ensure correct conclusions.
  • Ability to translate stakeholder requirements into actionable implementation plans.
  • Ability to manage difficult and senior stakeholders of the bank.
  • Excel in dynamic environments with strong analytical skills and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Genuine team player, achieving objectives through close collaboration with colleagues from diverse disciplines and backgrounds.
  • Strong writing and communication skills with an ability to present topics clearly and succinctly to various audiences.
  • Exceptional coordination, roadmap planning, backlog management and project management skills.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in related discipline (business, economics, legal, environment and/or social sciences) or Bachelor’s degree with the equivalent, relevant experience.
  • 10+ years work experience and a proven track record as a Business or Data Analyst with Data Implementation experience.
  • 10+ years work experience in the financial sector, in either Business or Tech function.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
