The Payment & CoreBanking Team Lead oversees the team that manages inbound and outbound transactions for Italy and Abroad payments of the Bank's Retail division in euro and non-euro as well as domestic/tax payments and bank/circular checks, ensuring their correct, efficient, accurate and timely execution, proactive management of anomalies, compliance with regulatory requirements and implementation of best practices in payments process management and related evolutions.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, collaborative, innovative and digital; a strong propensity for problem solving and teamwork complete the profile.


Key Characteristics.

  • Operations Management: execution of daily payment processing and settlement operations, ensuring that all transactions are processed accurately and timely, resolving any issues and anomalies, ensuring excellent service to internal and external customers. Support other internal operational areas and customer service channels. Team activity assignment and monitoring
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Oversee key risk indicators (KRIs) and ensure timely detection and reporting of internal critical issues.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and guide a team of payment specialists, providing training, performance evaluations, and ongoing support in professional development.
  • Reporting: Oversee, produce, and analyze reporting for performance team, including transaction volumes, error rates, analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement, monitoring internal, intra-group, and service provider service level agreements.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with the bank's various functions locally and internationally, including IT, Compliance, Contact Center, Business.


Education required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics and Finance, Management Engineering or a related field.
  • Master's degree or relevant certifications are a plus.


Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of payment back office management experience, with at least 2 years in a management role.


Knowledge:

  • Thorough knowledge of payment processing systems, industry regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Competencies and Skills:
  • Fluency in both written and spoken Italian and English;
  • Results and service orientation per cut-off;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent leadership and resource management skills;
  • Flexibility and positive attitude;
  • Communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong customer and continuous improvement orientation for digitization of services;
  • Expertise in payment processing technologies and software;
  • Sensitivity to risk and its mitigation
