As Expert Lead, you lead the development and execution of the Wholesale Banking Centre of Expertise Identity & Access management (WB CoE IAM) Expert team within ING Hubs Slovakia from vision and concept to sustainability, by managing and developing an expert team while considering the internal customers’ and ING clients’ needs, the environment and society. You are combining in an approximate ratio of 30% to 70%, the role of individual contributor and people manager in an agile way of working (WoW) organization. You act as a servant leader instead of hierarchical top-down manager. You are responsible for facilitating, supporting, and motivating team members to achieve common goals.

As Expert Lead you are a team-player, solution-focused and broadly developed, with a positive can-do mind-set, living the Orange Code Behavior. Besides being a people manager, you also perform content related tasks in the same area of expertise as your team members. Your content knowledge is sufficient to determine the direction of further steps, allows you to lead strategic discussions as well as to manage stakeholders in the area of your expertise. In your role you are proactively driving your stakeholders management in delivering significant client experience through the service reliability and added value provided by your team’s services. You can grow your network internally in the SK Hub organization, but also steer towards new stakeholders, turning them into sponsors and grow your service portfolio.

As part of your team responsibilities, you will:

  • Enhance and streamline existing IAM processes and workflows
  • Design and propose IAM tool improvements and new features via Product Owners, based on business and operational needs
  • Define WB’s Identity & Access standards, procedures, and processes in alignment with global policies (PCS, ITSS)
  • Serve as the key liaison to ING IAM departments and services, ensuring WB requirements are met and protected
  • Share IAM expertise, understand business needs and vision, and represent IAM strategies and requirements to stakeholders
  • Support audits and reviews, and strengthen audit readiness
  • Develop a training framework and deliver sessions to stakeholders (e.g., IT custodians, asset owners, IT security) on PCS, ITSS, processes, and procedures

You will also lead, support, and inspire your team by:

  • Continuously improving integrated ways of working, coaching your Expert Team toward self-steering and self-organization
  • Building a strong, cohesive team that leverages diverse skills and perspectives to achieve shared goals
  • Managing the full HR cycle (staffing, planning, development, performance reviews), balancing employee needs with business priorities
  • Driving engagement and fostering a motivating environment where people strive to achieve organizational goals
  • Leading by example with emotional intelligence and informal influence across teams and peers
  • Translating ING’s strategy into actionable objectives, supporting management communication, and contributing to the development of policies and guiding principles

You will champion continuous improvement (CI) and risk management by:

  • Acting as a role model and sponsor for innovation and improvement initiatives within your Expert Team
  • Applying structured problem-solving approaches to address challenges
  • Creating an environment that encourages innovation and strategic improvements at all levels
  • Ensuring compliance and protecting the organization’s reputation
  • Keeping procedures and work instructions up to date with all changes
  • Understanding financial metrics and effectively managing costs and savings

Expert Team description:

  • The WB CoE IAM team’s purpose is to ensure proper control within the WB IAM environment. This is achieved by providing proper governance with clear roles & responsibilities, standardizing and where possible automating IAM processes and ensuring that adequate controls that follow the Process Control Standard (PCS) IAM and IT Security Standard (ITSS) IAM are uniformly implemented across WB

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience of 7 years+ in Identity & Access Management, preferably in a leadership or senior specialist role
  • Strong understanding of IAM tools, processes, and governance frameworks (e.g., PCS IAM, ITSS IAM)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing, self-organizing teams
  • Experience with audit processes and regulatory compliance in a technology or financial services environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Familiarity with Agile ways of working and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, or similar) are preferred and considered a strong asset

Wage (gross)
4 267 EUR/month
*By legal requirement we are providing the information about the basic wage component (minimum salary) for the advertised position. Based on your experience/profile, the final financial conditions will be the subject to discuss and negotiate at the personal interview, however, not less than above mentioned minimum salary component.
