ING is proud to be recognised as Australia’s most recommended bank.  We pride ourselves on being prudent, honest and responsible in all that we do and in this role as Compliance Manager - Breach Reporting you’ll provide SME advice, challenge, support, and undertake investigations and assessments of potential breaches and serious complaints across ING Australia.

You will review potential compliance breaches logged within our Kenexa software and investigate incidents with focus on ASIC, APRA and BCoP obligations. You will prepare a compliance assessment report to determine if regulatory reporting is required and collaborate with the Business Control Office to validate facts and implement fixes.

This role will suit a compliance professional that has proven experience investigating potential compliance breaches and serious complaints. If you can interpret and assess compliance with applicable obligations and write cohesive written assessments and recommendations to senior stakeholders regarding potential breaches, control gaps and remediation actions this would be a perfect role for you.

What you’ll do

  • Investigating potential breaches and serious complaints; interpret and assess compliance with applicable obligations; and prepare written assessments and recommendations to senior stakeholders regarding potential breaches, control gaps, and remediation actions
  • Conducting targeted compliance risk and policy reviews and implement any necessary changes in the framework
  • Working alongside and providing assistance to other Compliance Managers where you’ll take the lead in specified compliance activities at times of competing priorities
  • Championing a risk and compliance culture within the business
  • Advising stakeholders on new and upcoming regulatory changes and assess business impacts
  • Working in a fast paced environment, operating in an environment that is subject to continual change and improvements to processes (and controls)

What we're looking for

  • Knowledge of Australian legal, regulatory and industry code obligations relevant to credit products and services (home/business loans, personal loans, and credit cards).
  • Ability to consider alternative solutions to a problem while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years compliance experience in the financial services industry (ideally banking) with at least 1 year of dedicated experience in investigation, breach assessment and/or complaints handling OR equivalent experience in a law firm or consultancy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a mature and professional manner with the ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously
  • Broad retail and wholesale banking product knowledge (highly advantageous)
