As Finance Business Partner – Expenses, you’ll be a true business partner in supporting our Retail and Business Banking divisions with the express aim of helping them to reduce cost. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to help them make smart cost decisions, forecast accurately, manage their FTE resourcing, and maximise value from every dollar spent.


This position requires deep financial acumen and hands-on experience in expense management across business functions, ensuring that forecasting, cost modelling, and financial insights support efficient resource allocation and informed strategic decision-making.

What you’ll do

  • Partner with business leaders to manage expenses, support resource planning, and provide clear advice on financial performance
  • Build driver-based expense models and deliver actionable insights through high-quality reports and commentary
  • Lead monthly forecasting and annual budgeting cycles, challenging assumptions and improving forecast accuracy
  • Analyse actuals vs. budget, support scenario modelling and contract decisions
  • Work with Finance and Data teams to streamline reporting, automate processes, and drive system improvements (Oracle EPM)
  • Support ad hoc strategic projects tied to ING’s broader priorities

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years’ experience in finance business partnering with a strong focus on expense management
  • A qualified accountant (CA or CIMA preferred)
  • Proven skills in building and maintaining driver-based forecasting models
  • Experience advising stakeholders and helping them navigate financial outcomes—especially for non-finance audiences
  • Familiarity with Oracle EPM or similar planning/reporting tools
  • Hands-on mindset and ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
