Your role & work environment

ING Belgium is looking for a Lead Financial Risk, acting as Head of ICAAP Analytics within Integrated Risk. The role allows you to lead the ICAAP Analytics team responsible for overarching topics such as risk appetite setting, risk assessment and stress testing. Additionally, you help ING to define and steer its strategic objectives by proactively providing risk advice unlocking business potential and lead virtual teams on strategic change programs.

You report hierarchically into the Head of Integrated Risk in Belgium, and functionally into the Global Head of ICAAP Analytics.

Your key responsibilities

Support INGs strategic ambitions by proactively managing INGs risk appetite on Solvency risk.

• Lead the Identification and Assessment of risks across ING, and ensure they are properly acted on.
• Coordinate diligent execution of our must win battle on capital optimisation
• Assess business & financial plans against INGs solvency risk appetite & perform sensitivity and alternative scenario analysis.
• Assess the impact of new regulations like CRR3 and propose corrective measures

Positively impact the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process within ING Belgium.

• Being the second line of defence with respect to ICAAP and thereby working close together with Group Treasury/Capital Management.
• Oversee the implementation of the new Economic Capital Framework and supporting further usage in both risk management and steering.
• Cover internal and external (EBA) ICAAP/Capital Stress Testing as well as Climate Risk Stress Testing.
• Coordinate local roll out of the Risk Appetite Framework, including solvency/capital risk appetite, allocation to risk types and preparing the annual risk appetite to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors.

Team Leadership and Collaboration

• As a lead ICAAP analytics, you will be responsible for executing and supervising the quality of team deliveries. You will mentor and energize the team daily, identify learning and development opportunities for individual team members, and coach teams.
• You’ll maintain a variety of transversal contacts with internal and external stakeholders (other Risk, Finance, Capital Management, various delivery tribes, ING Group, Front office, Subsidiaries, Internal and External Auditors etc.)
• Your duties also include defending and presenting high-quality reports and insights to senior management, CRO staff, and regulatory bodies such as the European Central Bank and Joint Supervisory Team.

As a Lead ICAAP Analytics within Integrated Risk you will need:

• Proven leadership skills or a clear ambition to lead a team of subject-matter experts
• >7 years knowledge of risk management and financial products specifically in Credit Risk;
• Academic level, preferably in Economics, Econometrics, Quantitative Finance or a similar specialisation;
• Strong (data) analytical and quantitative skills (the breakdown of complex issues in manageable pieces);
• Result-driven and able to push things forward in a persistent and constructive manner;
• Able to manage different stakeholders and navigate different cultural environments;
• Changeable and flexible, able to act swiftly in changing situations;
• Well structured, autonomous, highly adaptive, flexible team player;
• Thrive while working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment;
• Fluent in English (both verbal and in writing);
• Working with presentations, the ability to present complex content in an easy and transparent way;
