Internship as Business analyst – Center of Expertise Architecture.

Our role & work environment :

The COE (Center of Expertise) Architecture is part of the Tech department of ING Belgium.

The purpose of our COE is to enable business and IT to deliver strategic outcomes through reliable and sustainable solutions, aligned with group standards and leveraging agile ways of working.

This means that ING’s customers benefit from a seamless experience powered by reliable IT systems and best-in-class solutions, aligned with group standards and ING’s strategy.

To enable other departments/tribes of the bank & other teams with Tech (IT department of ING Belgium) in their new developments (new products, new customer or employee journeys, digitalization, automation, Life Cycle, …) people in our COE architecture take care of:

  • Delivering / Validating / publishing The reference architecture & standards (horizon 3 to 5 years)
  • Delivering / Validating The solution Intent / EPIC solution approach (horizon 1 to 3 years)
  • Delivering / Validating the solution architecture (horizon : weeks to months)

Our COE is composed of ~70 architects (Enterprise Architects, Domain Architects & Solution Architects).

Your internship within our COE Architecture :

As an intern in our team, you will help us in improving our collaborative knowledge management tool, where we make the relevant information for our people and/or internal stakeholders

  • Easy to find (a.o. via the Sharepoint technology)
  • Easy to keep up to date (a.o. via the right design and relevant automations & AI agents)
  • Easy to reuse
  • Easy to consume (a.o. via attractive and innovative supports/media)

  • Our internal processes
  • Our tools and standards
    • To deliver the expected architectural deliverables
    • To get and prioritise requests from our stakeholders (Quarterly Business Review)

This internship will require:

  • Interviews with colleagues from the COE and consumers
  • Gathering and Analysis of the existing documentation
  • Getting inspiration from other COE’s
  • Acquiring/deepening the Sharepoint capabilities
  • Understanding what the people in the COE are doing & delivering

Dependent on the interest and progress, the intern may be involved in some architectural deliverables.

As the investment in learning and training is important for both parties, we only consider internships of minimum 5 or 6 months.

To be successful in this internship you need:

  • Interest in designing the IT solutions of the future. A knowledge of modelling standards like Archimate or tools are welcomed.
  • Interest in learning new technologies.
  • Good analytical capabilities to gather, understand and structure the information.
  • Ability to work autonomously, with a great eye for details; but in the same time a team worker
  • Great communication skills and ability to synthesize for users and stakeholders
  • Delivery focus
  • Fluency in English (verbally and written). French &/or Dutch is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Interest in learning the Agile way of working
  • Have graduated in your Bachelor and be a student in your Master in Business in Information Technology management or equivalent.
