We started out in 2015 as ING’s software development hub, then steadily expanded our range to include more services and competencies. Now we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities and 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: 𝐁𝐮𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐣-𝐍𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐜𝐚.

The Mission

The NFR Specialist IV - ORM provides independent oversight and expert advisory on operational and non‑financial risks, ensuring risks are understood, controlled, and managed within risk appetite while supporting safe business growth, operational excellence and a mature risk culture.

Your day to day

  • Act as a key advisor to senior managers on the identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation of operational, internal control, fraud, and physical & personal security risks.

  • Coordinate and oversee the consistent implementation of operational risk policies and standards across the organization, ensuring alignment with Group NFR guidance.

  • Oversee and report on the risk scores of the entity

  • Actively monitor, review and challenge the effective design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the NFR frameworks at entity level, in line with Group policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

  • Drive and maintain effective risk awareness programs, including targeted communication, training initiatives, and engagement with stakeholders to strengthen risk culture.

  • Oversee the Risk and Control Self‑Assessment (RCSA) process, including monitoring the timely implementation of risk mitigation actions related to policies, procedures, and controls.

  • Coordinate the monitoring, analysis, and follow‑up of operational risk incidents, including impact assessments and facilitation of lessons‑learned processes.

  • Manage the tracking and remediation of audit and non‑audit findings within the operational risk domain, including authority to validate and close non‑audit issues and escalate accepted risks to the Management Team Non-Financial Risks.

  • Oversee operational risk assessments for projects and change initiatives, ensuring risks are identified early and mitigation measures are effectively implemented and monitored.

  • Maintain strong working relationships with Group NFR functions and other relevant second‑line stakeholders to ensure consistency, coordination, and delivery of the NFR function objectives.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • University degree;

  • Preferably 5 -7 years of relevant experience in functions dealing with internal control/ non-financial risks/ compliance risks etc.

  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills who is able to operate in a diversified and multicultural work environment;

  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across different business lines and geographies;

  • Strong and effective communication skills – fluent in written and spoken English;

  • Flexibility to work simultaneously on more than one topic and variety of activities;

  • Strong administration and organizational skills.
