Internship Fraud Investigations

Apply now

You are going to be developing a semi-automated solution to process phishing/smishing reports submitted via a dedicated mailbox in a forensically sound manner. The objective is to streamline the Notice and Takedown (NTD) workflow, enhance early detection of widespread fraud campaigns, and ensure the secure preservation of digital evidence for follow-up investigations. The approach must prioritize data integrity and privacy, processing only the metadata and personal information essential for analysis.

The team

At Fraud Investigations we investigate high impact fraud incidents involving the use of ING banking products. Mostly in the Netherlands, but we also assist colleagues abroad. We work optimally together in the team to protect ING and its customers against fraud. Through this collaboration, we have contact with fellow financial institutions and investigation services. We perform complex analyzes and prepare reports (lessons learned) for process improvements. Digital forensics is an essential part of this. Sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues within and outside your team is important to continuously improve quality within our department.

Roles and responsibilities

What do we ask from you:
•You work in a structured and results-oriented manner.
•You have a pragmatic attitude and can work independently.
•Act decisively and dare to make choices in the interest of the customer and ING
•You are analytical and able to translate both technical and tactical analyses into a report.
•You easily distinguish main issues from side issues and know how to link information from various sources.
•You record information accurately, take initiative and can gather the necessary information with targeted questions
•You have the personality and skills to function optimally in an Agile environment

At ING, we believe it’s your ideas, not your age that matter. As part of our team, you’ll work in a dynamic, international environment where you learn at a fast pace and be hands-on from the start. Our ambition is to help build a financially healthy and sustainable society for the Netherlands. A central part of our mission is expanding our reporting on sustainability. You’ll be part of the team exploring, investigating and implementing our reporting structure. It’s an opportunity to learn about sustainability and related financial disclosure requirements.
