Are you a talented IT (software) engineer student, registered at a Dutch education institution, and would you like work on IT projects for a wide variety of banking products and services? At ING Tech Research & Development you will be able to take your expertise to the next level and make maximum use of your knowledge while working in a friendly and dynamic atmosphere.

Our teams, ranging from young talented interns with a variety of backgrounds to tech and business experts, is united in their shared fascination for cutting-edge technologies and how these technologies can be deployed within our products and solutions to keep adding values for our customers. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with stakeholders, peers in a multidisciplinary team to take a project from inception to delivery while building up your professional network.

At ING we encourage the agile way of working. You will participate in recurring scrum events such as the daily scrum, review sessions and retrospectives. You can take it on and make it happen. We believe in autonomy, but we also find the interests of the team important. Within our department we offer you as many opportunities and support as possible to develop yourself personally and professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Use your development skills: program and solve design challenges during development
  • During development and code reviews you can explain your own coding and structural choices
  • Participate in setting up user, end-to end and unit testing
  • Attending meetings with stakeholders
  • Brainstorm with the team

To take on this challenging and rewarding opportunity, you’ll need: 

  • Have an understanding of HTML, CSS, Javascript, Java, Kotlin, MySQL & JSON
  • You know how to write code documentation
  • Understanding of automated builds and versioning is nice to have
  • Skills in encryption, data processing, database and data management
  • Knowledge of how to successfully implement open-source libraries / API’s
  • Experience with front-end and or back-end development
  • Independent mind-set and flexible attitude
  • You can contribute proactive in the process of developing an app, website or game
