The team

Procurement Netherlands is led by the Head of Procurement (HOP) and forms part of the Group Procurement organization. The function maximizes the value ING gets from suppliers and safeguards the integrity of our supply chain, operating efficiently and with sustainability at the heart of everything we do. Roles and responsibilities

The Vendor Manager is responsible for the execution of the Source-to-Contract processes, specifically the contract Life Cycle Management activities on a strategic level and must ensure that the process always runs seamlessly. Responsible for developing the vendor plans containing clear objectives, important (contractual) focus areas, development items to support value creation and continuous improvement. Ensure accomplishment of the defined objectives as included in the vendor plan, manages and monitors the vendor performance (commercially and third-party risk), monitors completion of contract obligations, negotiating contracts and disputes. Responsible to manage critical and strategic assigned contracts in close alignment with Business Contract Owner.

Your key responsibilities include:

Category expertise

  • Experience to support building and executing a category strategy in the area of contingent workforce, advisory, HR services and training.
  • Provide and share trends, developments, and risks for designated vendors to the Category manager.

Vendor management

  • Build supplier relationships, develop and implement a supplier and contract strategies.
  • Evaluate and report periodically for assigned vendors regarding performance to Business Contract owners and Procurement leadership.
  • Host and facilitate, in close alignment with Business Contract owner, vendor review meetings at strategic level.
  • Translate business plans into matching supplier relationships for assigned vendors.
  • Conduct contract negotiations with suppliers for major scope changes, updated internal/external requirements, renewals, and disputes.
  • Manage contract approvals. Send the contract to the supplier and retrieve signatures from both parties.
  • Share requirements and supplier innovation with Category Managers and Sourcing & Category Managers as input for category plans and sourcing projects.
  • Provide input for the Leadership team by evaluating available supplier innovations and strategies.
  • Consolidation of suppliers and set up a preferred supplier list. Create visibility of the preferred suppliers towards ING NL.

Contract management

  • Manage the contract lifecycle for assigned contracts.
  • Manage supplier performance by collecting performance measurements and data. Conduct supplier dialogues.
  • Manage and monitor contract and third-party risk compliance and contract obligations so that the contract objectives are achieved.
  • Perform product and service quality assessments. Verify the quality of products/service against contractual terms and conditions. Identifying and implementing contract improvements.
  • Manage supplier phase-out and vendor master data for a specific set of contracts.

Strategic challenges

Manage supplier relationship in the context of a multi-disciplinary stakeholder landscape consisting of Business Contract Owner(s), multiple support functions, and Supplier by finding the optimal balance between value optimisation, innovation and third-party risk management.

Work experience

  • >6 years in Procurement/Vendor Management area, preferably at a strategic level and preferably in an international financial services provider organisation.
  • >2 year managing vendor relationships, preferably at strategic level in the Professional Services category and (market) knowledge on Contingent Workforce.
  • Experience working with offshore teams.

Competencies

  • Master English business language/communication perfectly (spoken as well as written). Dutch Language required for role.
  • Proven track record in delivering procurement value
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Legal acumen.
  • Stakeholder management.
  • Implementing supplier management for critical and strategic contracts.
  • Signalling and consulting business on supplier and market risks.
  • Lead the governance structure with suppliers and contract owners and service managers.
  • Analytical Skills
  • Specific category and supplier knowledge to get the best value out of the supplier relationship.
  • Experience and local NL market knowledge in the Contingent Workforce, Services and Core banking category.
  • Influencing and conflict resolution skills.
  • Agile and self-driven.
