At ING, our COO Tech domain is dedicated to elevating transparency and control over IT products and services delivered and consumed throughout ING. Our goal is to achieve faster, more cost-efficient, and increased usage of our growing technology platform.

As a Program Manager, you will execute and orchestrate high-priority programs that align with the strategic goals of ING’s Tech & Business strategy. This role focuses on complex change programs in the Payments domain of ING, with Payments & Settlement Services as the main focus area. You will be part of the COO Tech Change & Transformation organization, working closely with change experts and consultants on assignments that are strategically most relevant for ING.

Payments are indispensable to and an integral part of our lives as individuals, as businesses, and to our organization. ING’s Payment and Settlement Services (PSS) is a professional services provider in payments, settlements, and open banking. PSS is building a global payments platform to consolidate all of ING’s payments volumes, resulting in cost-efficiency for ING and a more strengthened and centralized control environment for payments. PSS is an independent unit within ING, reporting directly into ING’s COO and CTO. PSS is a Business Services oriented organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage global programs throughout all phases of the life cycle: starting the change (idea/initiation), delivering the change, and closing the change.

  • Set up and run proper program governance and a clear roadmap with milestones.

  • Continuously manage and monitor the delivery of change.

  • Report on progress within agreed timelines, ensure quality assurance, manage impediments, ensure insight into the critical path and dependencies, and ensure timely resolution of impediments.

  • Ensure that the outcomes are embedded in business as usual.

  • Actively share lessons learned as we strive to be a learning organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum +8 years’ experience in global change execution with a proven track record in delivering complex projects, programs and changes in an international context.

  • Strong understanding of the tech landscape, global processes, and channels within ING.

  • Solid understanding of and concrete experience with the payments domain (processes, solutions, technology), ideally within the ING context.

  • Experience in managing change with a combined business and IT focus (including large scale IT change).

  • Knowledge of the ING organization and a strong network are a plus.

  • Extensive program management skills.

  • Organizational sensitivity with the ability to build trust with senior leadership and manage complex stakeholders environments.

  • High resilience, the ability to deal with ambiguity, and manage complexity.

  • Problem-solving, structuring, and analytical skills.

  • Proactive, can-do mentality, and a positive mindset.

  • A naturally collaborative and communicative person who listens and invests in others to achieve common goals and pushes where needed to achieve results.

  • Excellent level of English, communication, consultancy, and presentation skills.

Education:

  • Master’s degree and relevant certifications.
