Mission

The Financial Crime and Prevention (FCP) organization is a 1st line department in ING Bank Romania that designs, builds and runs technical and operational solutions with the purpose to ensure safe and secure business operations, protecting our organization via the means of combating money laundering and preventing the financing of terrorism.

The Data Scientist role lies in the KYC CoE team, which falls under the larger FCP organization. The mission is to support the design and adoption of complex algorithms and models onto the tooling that manage the Data actualization, Customer Due Dilligence and Transaction Monitoring workflows.

Your day to day

  • Create basic machine learning algorithms and support creation of more complex algorithms that identify patterns in structured data.
  • Support the interpretation of advanced and predictive analytics data, using specialized software tools and functionalities.
  • Conduct research and select relevant information to enable analysis of key themes and trends using primary data sources and business intelligence tools.
  • Monitor the performance of the models, interpret the results and pro-actively propose solutions for optimization.
  • Is responsible for model documentation, compliance with the applicable governance and methodologies. Ensures data integrity & management in accordance with the role and applicable AML/CFT related policies.
  • Partner with different business stakeholders and internal clients to ensure the collection of data in accordance with model standards.
  • Involvement in global projects as per the strategic priorities at bank level.

What you bring to the team

  • University degree in Mathematics/ Statistics/ Cybernetics.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbally.
  • Knowledge in model development or validation
  • Tools: Python, SAS, Microsoft/Oracle SQL, Microsoft Package, Azure DevOps Knowledge of banking market developments and influencing factors, understanding of Anti Money Laundering/Combating Financing of Terrorism regulation.
  • Takes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.

  • Plans and prioritizes work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.
