The Mission

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize data pipelines and platforms that enable advanced analytics and business intelligence. This role emphasizes ETL development, data modeling, BI integration, and modern automation practices using Python and Apache Airflow, with experience in Azure DevOps and optional exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Your day to day

  • ETL Development: Design, implement, and maintain ETL workflows using enterprise tools (IBM DataStage, Informatica, or similar).
  • Data Modeling: Develop and optimize data models for analytics and reporting, ensuring scalability and performance.
  • BI Enablement: Integrate and support BI tools, with a focus on Power BI and IBM Cognos, enabling self-service analytics.
  • Automation & Orchestration: Build Python scripts for data automation and orchestrate workflows using Apache Airflow.
  • Cloud & DevOps: Utilize Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and version control.
  • Cloud Integration (Nice-to-Have): Familiarity with GCP services (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Composer) for data processing and deployment.
  • Data Platform Strategy: Contribute to the evolution of next-generation data management platforms.
  • Quality & Governance: Ensure data quality, security, and compliance across all solutions.
  • Agile Delivery: Safeguard Agile-Scrum principles in team operations, promoting iterative delivery and continuous improvement.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Proven experience in ETL development and data engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling for analytics and BI.
  • Hands-on experience with Python automation and Airflow orchestration.
  • Experience with BI tools (Power BI, IBM Cognos) and enabling self-service reporting.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps for CI/CD and deployment automation.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience in Scrum teams.
  • (Nice-to-have) Exposure to GCP and its data services.
