Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for calculating, reporting the daily P/L of the bank from Product Control perspectives for Financial Markets and Bank Treasury Products
  • Key responsibility for P/L reconciliation and analysis for the above task
  • Key responsibility for Product Review process from Product Control perspectives regarding new products
  • Perform the quarterly back-testing
  • Prepare and maintain manuals, internal rules, guidelines and procedures related to Product Control functions
  • Perform price testing and Hypothetical P/L calculation, if applicable
  • Develop and control the appropriate operation of the Product Control systems
  • Prepare material to the various committees (ALCO, LPC)
  • Participate in the preparation of the ECB’s PDCE quarterly reporting

Problem solving / decision making:

The Product Control analyst has extensive problem solving functions:

  • As far as the Product Control is concerned, the position holder supports the Financial Markets/Group Treasury and Risk Management with analysis of P/L, P/L calculation, P/L reconciliation etc., and prepares proposals for higher level decisions and measures
  • In participation of solving data quality problems in the Financial Markets and Bank Treasury areas as far as the Product Control aspects are concerned
  • In participation of solving of potential conflicts of various Product Control and business interests of the Bank

Job requirements:

Knowledge and Skills:

  • College or University degree
  • Banking experience
  • Knowledge of banking systems, products and related controlling issues
  • Acceptable level of technical skills
  • Thorough knowledge of and compliance with all job related ING policies, processes, procedures and regulations
  • Computer literacy: MS Office
  • Fluency of written and spoken English; the knowledge of any other foreign language is a plus
  • Team working skills 
  • Ability to work under stress
  • Result orientation
  • Time management, priority setting, ability to keep deadlines, discipline
  • Accurate, focused and proactive working attitude, all according to standards
  • Learning ability and intellectual capability
  • Cooperative attitude
