Product Area Lead - Credit Cards

Apply now

Every day, millions of customers across more than 40 countries rely on ING’s products and services. In this role, you’ll help shape their experience — influencing how they bank, how they move money, and how we empower them to stay a step ahead in life and business. If you’re driven by the opportunity to make a real impact on people’s financial lives, this is your chance to lead meaningful change at scale.

At ING, our Payments Tribe is responsible for Debit Card, Account to Account payments, accelerating Credit Card growth and expanding our FX and Remittances capabilities through a clear, customer‑centred strategy and strong cross‑functional execution. With an exciting and ambitious growth agenda ahead, we’re looking for a Product Area Lead, Credit Cards, to join the Payments Tribe leadership team within the Retail Bank. In this role, you will be accountable for the end‑to‑end Credit Card origination and in‑life strategy and execution — partnering closely with customers and business stakeholders to design superior digital experiences and deliver on our strategic growth targets.

This is a permanent position based in Sydney.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the development and implementation of the Credit Card acquisition and channel strategy, working closely with key stakeholders to develop product journeys to both acquire new customers and cross sell to existing customers.
  • Develop and oversee implementation of the roadmap for a market-leading direct, digital application to approval experience for new and existing ING customers.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to optimise performance through digital sales channels including sales efficiency and incentives. Regularly listening to feedback to ensure product, process and policy opportunities are optimized.
  • Lead a team of professionals with deep expertise to achieve the growth aspirations of the tribe, whilst developing their careers, and supporting a strong “orange” culture of can-do and collaboration.
  • Lead the credit card product strategy; maintaining, designing and building market leading features that deliver customer centric benefits and capabilities.
  • Manage key product changes such as changes to interest rates, fees, promotions, and terms and conditions.
  • Manage product governance requirements including issue and incident management and remediation.

What we’re looking for

  • Extensive experience in credit card or lending product management and distribution.
  • A strong focus on customer acquisition, proposition innovation and identifying new avenues for growth.
  • Demonstrated capability in enhancing products and customer journeys — ideally through digitisation — to improve portfolio growth, decision speed and customer experience.
  • The ability to articulate strategy, set direction and define clear priorities in partnership with others.
  • Proven experience managing complex issues, incidents or remediation activities with sound judgement and execution.
  • Strong stakeholder leadership, supported by analytical thinking, experience with product simplification and the ability to build engaged, purpose‑driven teams.

What’s in it for you?

  • Discounted ING Health Insurance
  • An additional Rest Day to support your wellbeing
  • An IMPACT day to volunteer on approved sustainability activity
