Are you interested in how a global bank stays resilient in a complex and rapidly changing environment? In this internship, you will work at the intersection of operational resilience, third-party risk, and AI, helping ING strengthen the continuity of its Wholesale Banking services. You will combine analytical work with hands-on exploration of contracts, risk, and innovative technologies.

The team
You will be part of ING’s Wholesale Banking Operational Resilience environment, working closely with experts in third-party risk management, governance, and resilience. The team focuses on strengthening how the bank manages dependencies on external suppliers and ensures continuity of important services.
You will contribute to initiatives that help translate regulatory expectations and business challenges into practical and scalable solutions.

Roles and responsibilities
During this internship, you will work on a focused set of activities that combine analysis, improvement, and innovation:

  • Identify and analyse a selection of critical third-party relationships supporting key banking services
  • Assess exit readiness and the ability to transition or replace third-party services in practice
  • Support the development and improvement of exit planning standards and guidance
  • Translate regulatory and internal requirements into practical assessment criteria
  • Explore how AI can support scalable and consistent quality assessments of documentation
  • Contribute to enhancing ways of working and governance approaches for managing third-party resilience

We are looking for someone who:

  • Works in a structured and analytical way and enjoys solving complex problems
  • Communicates clearly and can translate insights into practical recommendations
  • Is comfortable working with data (e.g. Excel, Power BI or similar tools)
  • Has an interest in operational resilience, risk management, or financial services
  • Is keen to explore how AI can be applied in a business or risk context
  • Shows initiative and enjoys working in an international environment
