We started out in 2015 as ING’s software development hub, then steadily expanded our range to include more services and competencies. Now we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities and 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: 𝐁𝐮𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐣-𝐍𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐜𝐚.

The Mission

ING Hubs Romania is looking for a strong developer who is technically passionate, solution-focused and able to design, develop, test, maintain and expand the functionalities of the Inside Business Portal that is used by corporate clients (operating in 40 countries) globally.

With functionalities such as Service Requests or Client Insights, we aim to empower our colleagues to help clients better & faster with their requests. At the same time, we are focusing on increasing and improving our applications resilience when it comes to security, quality gates, monitoring, alerting and so on.

Your day to day

Even if you’ll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. Here are your daily responsibilities:

Delivery and Improvements:

  • Design and develop new features from scratch and improve existing ones;
  • Do code reviews, write unit tests, make code refactoring and take care of technical debt;
  • Align and discuss solutions directly with stakeholders;
  • Work in an agile environment, based on a lot of research, collaboration and "learn from failure" way of working, with highly impactful deliveries;
  • Have a direct impact on the business improvements through developing and being part of the strategic deliveries;
  • Provide hands-on support to colleagues when investigating production issues/outages.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Experience: 3+ years of industry experience in IT (dev);
  • Tech stack/ knowledge:
    • Essential:
      • Highly proficient development skills – core server-side Java;
      • Work with SpringBoot and other Spring modules (web, data, security) or any other dependency injection framework;
      • Have a focus on quality while working with Junit, Mokito, Power Mock, as well as BDD frameworks such as cucumber;
      • Work with Oracle as a database;
      • Experience in SQL and relational modelling;
      • Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar tools + Confluence, Checkmarx, ServiceNow;
      • Experience or affinity with IT Security concepts;
      • Experience with the entire software development life cycle;
      • Experience with building services from scratch and developing on top of existing components;
      • Understanding of Continuous Delivery concepts. Interactions with tools such as Git, Azure DevOps, Maven;
      • Use Linux as deployment environment.
    • Nice to have:
      • Experience with messaging technologies and protocols;
      • Experience in optimizing software for performance;
      • Flexibility in development technologies;
      • Expected to work with different technologies and languages (Java, Python)
  • Foreign languages: English (advanced spoken and written is a must);
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in, preferably, an IT related field.
