As a Business Analyst within our COO Risk ESG Tribe, you will play a key role in enabling ING's transition toward a data-driven future by delivering trusted, harmonized, and actionable data solutions.

What You'll Do

As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for managing and translating business data requirements into scalable data solutions that support regulatory reporting, risk management, and business decision-making.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Gathering, analyzing, and documenting detailed business and data requirements.
  • Supporting data onboarding, data management, and data quality initiatives across the organization.
  • Performing data mapping, validation, and reconciliation activities using SQL.
  • Developing and maintaining data definitions, business terms, and data models.
  • Creating functional and technical mappings from source to target systems.
  • Participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression testing, and defect resolution.
  • Interpreting regulatory requirements and translating them into business and data requirements.
  • Building reports and configuring business rules to support stakeholder needs.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver data products and services.
  • Communicating progress, dependencies, risks, and solutions to stakeholders.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of data management standards, processes, and ways of working.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in data management, data onboarding, and data quality processes.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret large datasets.
  • Understanding of logical and conceptual data models.
  • Experience performing data mapping, validation, and reconciliation activities.
  • Experience with UAT, regression testing, and requirements management.

Banking & Regulatory Knowledge

  • Experience within banking, finance, risk, or regulatory reporting environments.
  • Knowledge of statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Familiarity with FINREP or other regulatory reporting frameworks is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of retail banking products from an accounting and reporting perspective is an advantage.

Professional Skills

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Excellent documentation and requirements-gathering capabilities.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Growth mindset with a passion for continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Information Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Agile ways of working.
  • Affinity for technology and data-driven solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
