About the Team

The Lending Portfolio Management team is responsible for the active management of ING's lending portfolio across the Energy, Telecom, Media & Technology, and Real Estate sectors. The team oversees all activities following deal closing, ensuring effective credit risk monitoring, portfolio performance assessment, and compliance with financing documentation.

The successful candidate will join a team of experienced professionals and gain direct exposure to complex structured finance and project finance transactions. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with colleagues across Origination/Sectors, Transaction Management, Risk Management, Legal and Operations, providing a broad understanding of the end-to-end lending lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the preparation of annual credit reviews and periodic portfolio assessments.

- Assist in the review and update of internal credit risk ratings, including the maintenance and running of transaction financial models.

- Support the management of amendments, waivers, refinancings and extensions, including the preparation of internal credit applications and coordination of approval processes.

- Monitor transactions’ performance through the analysis of financial statements, financial covenants, operating reports, and other key credit metrics.

- Assist in the identification and assessment of early warning signals and emerging credit risks.

- Participate in client meetings, lender meetings and internal deal discussions.

- Contribute to portfolio reporting, data analysis and ad hoc management information requests.

- Support Portfolio Managers in assessing market developments and evaluating their potential impact on portfolio performance and credit quality.

Requirements

- Master's degree (or ongoing Master's studies) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting or related disciplines.

- Strong interest in corporate lending, project finance, structured finance and credit risk.

- Courses or academic exposure to Project Finance or Real Estate Finance would be considered an advantage.

- Previous internship or work experience within banking, finance, consulting or financial advisory is a plus.

- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with attention to detail.

- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and good knowledge of PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.

- Fluency in both English and Italian is required.

- Proactive attitude, strong teamwork skills and willingness to work in a dynamic international environment.

Location: Milan (hybrid)

Compensation: 1500€/month
