DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Role Overview

The FI Salesperson is responsible for originating, developing, and executing sales opportunities across FX, Rates, and OTC Derivatives for approved institutional clients within delegated risk and credit limits. The role aims to deliver tailored solutions and efficient execution, grounded in strong client relationships, product expertise, and close collaboration with internal stakeholders, while ensuring full adherence to ING’s risk appetite and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

As an FI Sales professional, your principal responsibilities include:

  • Own and manage day-to-day sales activities in FX and Rates flow products in line with the FM Sales Practice Manual and internal governance framework.
  • Originate and support structured and bespoke derivative solutions by working closely with local, regional, and global Trading and Structuring desks.
  • Develop, maintain, and grow long-term relationships with existing and prospective institutional clients (e.g. banks, securities firms, asset managers, insurers), acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Drive revenue generation through effective idea creation, market color sharing, and proactive client engagement.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders including Trading, Research, Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, and Operations to deliver optimal solutions while balancing client needs and ING’s risk profile.
  • Ensure full compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and professional conduct standards at all times.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience managing and growing financial institution client relationships.
  • Strong technical knowledge of FX, Rates, and OTC Derivatives.
  • Good market awareness with an ability to identify trends and client opportunities.
  • Commercially minded, self‑driven, and results focused.
  • Strong communication skills with local and global stakeholders.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and collaborative team player aligned with ING culture.
  • Fluent in English and Korean (written and spoken).
