We are looking for a motivated Financial Controller to strengthen the CoE Financial Markets Product Control team. In this role you design policies and provide advice on product accounting, financial reporting and the control framework for Financial Markets globally. Furthermore, to support the FM business in the realisation of its long-term ambitions, you help improve the accounting framework & controls and actively engage in the coordination of implementing these improvements.

You work closely together with the Senior Financial Controller in the team and other team members of Finance FM, the regional leads of FM Product Control, and other key Finance stakeholders (Group Finance (incl. accounting Policies & Procedures), COO Finance and local Finance. In addition, you work closely with Trading Risk Management (CRO/Financial Risk) on P&L, Valuation and Market data topics, and with Financial Risk Policy domain to align our policies for FM stakeholders.

Financial Markets Business

The Financial Markets (FM) strategy is to serve institutional, corporate and retail clients with the financial markets products that they require. It’s a client driven business franchise.

To support the global FM business, the FM value chain delivers financial markets products to clients in the most operationally efficient manner in the various countries and legal entities required by global and local regulations. Finance, Risk Management, Tech and Operations are part of this value chain. Financial Markets Product Control is directly enabling the business through independent financial control, support and advise, but also steers the change required in the systems and controls to become future proof.

Team

You will become part of the CoE Financial Markets Product Control, which resides within FM Finance & Product Control. The CoE consists of Valuation experts, a Business Change Coordinator and Financial Controllers. You are reporting to the CoE Lead of FM Product Control.

Your key responsibilities

As a Financial Controller you are responsible for the following activities:

  • Establishment, maintenance and roll-out of specific Global FM Finance & Product Control Policies & Procedures
  • Be the go-to person for FM when it comes to Financial Accounting and Regulatory expertise on FM products
  • Responsible for keeping the Financial Markets Product Control Framework up to date
  • Overseeing global SOx performance for FM Product Control
  • Support operational excellence by identifying improvement opportunities in the current way of working

How to succeed
As a Financial Controller we ask you have/are:

  • University degree (Master’s preferred) in Finance or equivalent (e.g. Accounting, Auditing)
  • Expertise in IFRS and implementing regulatory requirements
  • Experience in (business) control, risk management, accounting and/or product control activities in Financial Markets and/or Treasury
  • To take initiative and strive pro-actively towards standardized processes for FM Product Control
  • Structured way of working and good coordination & organization skills
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written in English)
