Senior Data Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Applies principles, policies, best practices, reference architecture and standards in Data Management domain defined by Architects;
• Defines Design & Development guidelines in Data Management domain;
• Ensures that all projects design complies with the already defined data strategy;
• Designs data architectures to meet business and IT requirements;
• Is active part of development teams during Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Ensures development work complies with the established standards and principles in order to avoid or mitigate issues;
• Works closely with Enterprise Architects to give advice on data architecture topics;
• Optimizes the processes in a customer friendly way to maximize customer and business value, including testing and acceptance phases. This task also incorporates the translation of functional requirements to technical specifications;
• Promotes the creation of a shared vision, stimulates motivation and inspires the group, making each person an active part of change
• Indicates solutions and inspire the squad in the implementation of the Data Management and Data Quality principles, with specific focus on the target Data Lake infrastructure, with all the necessary re-platforming / migrations
• Ability to guide the squad toward common goals by fostering collaboration, open communication, and a sense of belonging. Includes conflict resolution and creating a harmonious work environment
• Gives particular attention in managing Minimum Standards and Operative Model, verify the compliance of all the delivery required documents related to development
• Covers on-call shifts and responds to emergencies if needed

Requirements:

• University degree
• 10+ years within DWH as design/development and/or maintenance
• Proven experience in Data Management/DWH/DATALAKE/Data Quality/Data Governance
• Used to work in complex and international environment helping the squad to keep the focus on the goals
• Experience gained within financial services is a plus
• Ability to keep tracking of progression and anticipate issues
• Proficient English (written and spoken)
