Lending Product Manager

Solliciteer

Each day, millions of customers in over 40 countries use ING’s banking products and services. In this role, you’ll shape their experience—helping define how they bank, how they grow, and how they stay a step ahead in life and business. If you’re ready to make a genuine impact on people’s financial journeys, this is your moment.

We are looking for an experienced Business Lending Product Manager to help lead the next evolution of Business Banking at ING. As part of our Business Development team, you will build the business model from the ground up—driving the strategic direction of lending across our Digital, Broker, and Relationship Banking channels. You’ll collaborate closely with local and global stakeholders to shape solutions that support self‑employed businesses, SME’s, and mid‑corporates as they grow in an increasingly dynamic and complex environment.

In this role, you will help advance our digitalisation roadmap by transforming end‑to‑end customer journeys—from onboarding and in‑life servicing. You will ground every decision in data insights and customer voice, ensuring our needs‑based segmentation model delivers relevant, seamless, trusted, and highly personal financial experiences. Success will require strong strategic leadership, stakeholder management, and a clear focus on building exceptional customer outcomes.

This is a permanent role based in Sydney.

What you’ll do

  • Own the Business Lending channel & product strategy and its execution & prioritisation. This spans across SEM (self-employed and micro), SME and Mid-corporate segments, including both third-party and direct distribution channels.
  • Be responsible for product-related decisions impacting customer experience, proposition design, and operational processes. Makes product design decisions in alignment with risk, regulatory, and commercial objectives.
  • Provide key input into credit policy enhancements and approvals relevant to the business banking segments in order to achieve optimal risk-adjusted returns.
  • Drive digitalisation of lending journeys—including origination, credit decisioning, onboarding, and in-life servicing—to reduce friction and enhance customer experience.
  • Conduct regular competitor analysis, market benchmarking, broker/customer satisfaction survey and regulatory environment scanning to ensure products remain competitive and compliant.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong knowledge of the Business Banking segment, lending products, and sales & service models.
  • Proven ability to set strategic direction, prioritise initiatives, and apply strong business and commercial acumen.
  • End‑to‑end product management experience across the full lending product lifecycle, including portfolio performance management.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple projects simultaneously and driving change in complex, multi‑geography stakeholder environments.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with strength in preparing high‑quality management presentations.
  • Proactive, analytical and data‑driven mindset, with the confidence to take ownership and deliver impact. Demonstratable experience in use of AI in day-to-day product management responsibilities.

What’s in it for you?

  • Discounted ING Health Insurance
  • An additional Rest Day to support your wellbeing
  • An IMPACT day to volunteer on approved sustainability activity
