Thesis Intern: Credit Risk Data Remediation

The Thesis Intern will have an opportunity to gain hands-on credit risk data remediation and automation experience and learn about the various aspects of the function, specifically in the credit risk data industry.

The team
Credit Risk Data Remediation team ensures that the Default and LGD data is of appropriate quality for Model Development purposes. This is achieved through processing cashflow, facility and collateral data.

Roles and responsibilities
Thesis Intern will have an opportunity to write a thesis project within the Credit Risk Data Remediation domain. Furthermore, you will contribute to the team via the following dimensions: 

  • Automation. Perform a key role in the automation and simplification of manual default and LGD data remediation processes.

  • Business analysis. Gather and analyze data to identify needs and recommend solutions.  For example, design, create and develop management reports or dashboards based on information requirements of management.

  • Engage stakeholders. Involve team members who will use the automated processes. Gather their input to ensure the solution meets their needs.

  • Optimize and monitor.  Assist in the testing, migration and implementation of new systems.  After deployment, continuously monitor the automated processes. Collect feedback and performance data to identify areas for improvement.

  • Train users.  Provide training for team members on new tools and processes. This helps ensure smooth adoption and maximizes the benefits of automation.

  • Participates and recommends on the development, maintenance and optimization of policies and guidelines within Data Remediation.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.

  • Demonstrated leadership in work and/or academics
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact comfortably at all levels of the organization including with senior level leaders
  • Expertise on automation and data transformation tools. For example, macros of Microsoft Excel, SQL or SAS programming, among others.
  • Good project management skills with clear roll-out plans
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented, dynamic and changing environment
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must possess a strong customer service orientation with high sense of urgency in meeting goals and deadlines
  • Ability to influence and think creative and strategically
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
