Structured Commodity Finance (SCF) is a core product offering within ING’s Trade & Commodity Finance franchise (TCF) designed to meet the structured financing needs of our (TCF) clients.

TCF is part of the Commodities, Food & Agri (CF&A) Sector and has an integrated client/sector/product set up that manages the relationships with traders in physical commodities (Energy, Metals and Agricultural Commodities). With dedicated TCF offices in EMEA, Asia and North America, ING is recognized by its commodity clients and its peers as a global leading bank in the sector.

Following the setup of the TCF Products business vertical in early 2025 and the subsequent repositioning of SCF within this vertical, the team has become an important growth contributor for TCF and enjoys a strong reputation with our clients. 

We are expanding our SCF team and are seeking to hire a proactive and senior deal originator to expand, execute and manage SCF deals in our SCF team in Geneva.

In this role your primary responsibility will be to develop and grow the bank’s SCF portfolio across our global commodity client base and contribute to ING’s strategic positioning of this product.

  • You are a senior, client-facing banker who drives ING’s TCF differentiating factors and value proposition versus its competitors.

  • You are a leader at negotiating terms with traders, producers, banks and insurers.

  • You have extensive knowledge to assess credit risk, commodity price impacts, collateral security and perform due diligence.

  • You have proven end to end structuring skills covering origination, structuring, financial and non-financial risk analysis and awareness and the ability to handle specifics of execution, documentation and closing transactions.

  • You are a team player and have a strong relationship building drive.

  • You have an existing network with commodities clients as well as key banking peers.

  • You will ensure operational excellence and compliance in this strategic product offering.

  • You have strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • You will support the team by contribution to team success, engaging actively and coaching the junior members of the team.

  • You have a positive mindset, are capable to work under pressure and eager to go the extra mile.

Required experience

  • You have relevant and proven 10-15 years of experience in commodities, structuring and origination,

  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex producer/ processing prepayment and pre-export financing structures.

  • Strong commercial acumen, a growth mindset and the ability to execute transactions.

  • Good knowledge/ experience of the regulatory environment,  

  • Your academic record demonstrates a high degree of analytical competence

  • Fluent in English, other languages are an advantage.

  • University degree, preferably Master in Finance, Economics and/ or Business Administration
